I came with a large group as one of the first in the restaurant. We all enjoyed our dishes, including fried shrimp, crab, and the seafood bake appetizer. I give four stars because our waitress was almost nonexistent for most of our meal. Many times we felt as if she had forgotten about us.
The collection of taxidermy was definitely interesting, and the restaurant also sported a tank with an alligator. Although, I felt bad for the lonely alligator in a small tank.
Some places throughout the building had a strong odor like horseradish, and my allergies were acting up. I'm not sure if the taxidermy were to blame.
Overall, an interesting experience while visiting Jacksonville!
This is a very unique place. The ambiance has a very nice ring ,it is gorgeous inside the restaurant. The prime rib is absolutely humongous and equally good as well. My wife had the stuff flounder with broiled shrimp, it was absolutely stunning as well. If you have never tried this place you should absolutely take the time and come see for yourself the prices are very moderate considering the size of the portions are very large. Sometimes bigger is not always better but in this case you will not walk away disappointed your taste buds will be thrilled! Hope you get to enjoy this place as much as we do! Never a disappointment! This place definitely deserves 5 stars

Absolutely amazing! My favorite place for sea food and exotic treats. Great bar. Fantastic friendly staff. And the food is without a doubt to die for. My family and i will DEFINITELY be back. The experience the atmosphere and the real honest friendly energy radiating from this place is unlike any other. Bring your friends, bring your family. I promise you will have a top notch time EVERYTIME!
The experience of it all warrants five stars based on eccentricity alone, except for those who are vegan or vegetarian friendly (this this place is far, far, far, far, far from that.) I went here and was immediately captivated by the fish camp's scenic location on the water. Inside, you're taken into a large seating area that's adorned with a variety of taxidermied animals. The menu is diverse and features everything from the standard dishes to exotic treats (my meal here consisted of grilled python and fried kangaroo, in case you were wondering.) Wasn't disappointed with the experience or the service. This is definitely worth seeing if you end up in Jacksonville.
LOVE IT! THE ATMOSPHERE IS AMAZING. THE DECOR GIVES OFF A SOUTHERN COUNTRY FEEL AND THE FOOD IS EVERYTHING!!! WAIT TIMES CAN BE VERY LONG BUT THE SERVICE MAKES UP FOR THAT :)
Probably my favorite place to eat in Jacksonville. Great service, food and atmosphere. It is always very busy so be sure to have so time when you go. The food is very good, I love the appetizers, many exotic ones which I have tried every one on the list at least once now. It is well worth the cost but for me is usually just for a special occasion.Great location for a family night out.
Interesting restaurant. Food is decent. Prepare for lots of deep fried food. Menu is very broad and overwhelming. Kids really liked the chicken strips and fries. We tried the sampler platter. I liked the alligator tail but not a fan of frog legs and catfish. Interedting decor with many many stuffed animals. Saw lots of turtles in the water around the dock.
We arrived at just before 5pm. Hostess was very nice. She even noticed and commented on my boyfriends t-shirt. We were seated quickly and soon thereafter our waiter appeared like magic. He answered all of our questions and gave us advice on what we were asking him about. Our food came out quickly and he was attentive throughout our meal. Our glasses were never empty and we wanted for nothing. It was our first visit to Clark's but it won't be our last.
If you are looking for a unique dining experience with mediocre food this is your place. Atmosphere and setting are great but the food did not match my expectations. We started out with the Prime rib stuffed mushrooms which we very bland and disappointing, for the main course I had the flounder stuffed with crab and Monterey Jack cheese topped with shrimp. This wasn't terrible but again it was bland and uninspired. The hush puppies were cold, and side dishes seemed like they were prepared earlier in the day. overall the food seemed like it comes frozen or is prepared before hand and then frozen. We were told by our server, Jordan, who was very courteous and helpful by the way, that the menu was soon to be updated and simplified, this will be a good thing. I wanted very much to like Clark's, I have heard so much about it in my lifetime of living in Jacksonville. If you have family or friends visit from out of town . then definitely bring them here just don't expect too much from the food. Hopefully the new menu will bring a fresher more exciting taste to the food.
They've let the place go since the last time we've been here. The wait staff is very attentive however it did take about 20 minutes for us to get our food. However once we got it and had the same great taste as usual. The atmosphere here is always very interesting, it is definitely a place that you would like to take friends and family even just to look around.
Great environment, great customer service, really cool environment. Our server took our drink orders and brought them right away. He was very attentive, food was served in a timely manner. He made sure we had everything we needed. We had the gator basket, shark bites, fried green tomatoes, oysters on the half shell and chowder. It was all amazing.
Only reason for 4 instead of 5 is the staff needs more training on gluten free and other food allergies.
This place is the absolute best! I have never had a better experience and Big John was the most helpful waiter I have ever met! There is absolutely no reason to say no to the option of going here! "Out of the way" or "out of state!" I loved my dinner here and I would definitely go again! The menu has so much variety and many exotic choices! I would definitely recommend this place to ANYONE who passes through the area!
This place has been here in Jax for so long, Sometimes you take it for granted. I have not been here in a few years. So last week my girlfriend and I dropped in and had a bite to eat at he bar. The bartender Erin waited on us. She was great, we ordered the Prime Rib Mushroom appetizer. It was good. Also had a fried seafood platter it was good too. To sum it up the food was good and service was good. Really, I forgot just how interesting this place is. All of the stuffed game animals, the live Gator next to the bathroom. The beautiful River out back. Will you leave here saying "that's the best meal I've ever had"? Maybe not, but you will have a great time and get some good food. Yes you will.
If you want something a little more exotic than typical seafood, this place is great. To me the only downside was that the sampler platters are all only available deep fried. If there were some steamer or grilled players, this would be 5 easily. Single item entrees appeared to be available grilled or fried. It's also a pretty cool place for little kids with a variety of aquariums and taxidermy to view.
