Great drinks selection AND food selection! Wonderful vibe eating in an old train station! Highly recommend this place to anyone.

Was just there on my way back to Milwaukee from Detroit and stopped in for a quick refuel!! It worked out perfectly, food came out very fast and was cooked to order perfectly. Our waitress was lovely as well!!

If you get the chance, don't pass on Clara's!

Went for son's 31st birthday celebration dinner. We had a private space. Love the atmosphere of this restaurant. Host and servers very friendly. Our grandkids decided to dance by the Christmas tree in the lobby and they were received with smiles from the staff--much appreciated by us! Food was good too!

Great food, great service, wonderful atmosphere. I particularly enjoy the variety of coffee drinks and the way they prepare seafood. Very light and well complemented by flavorful, but airy sauces. It really helps the tender, flaky, delicate meat melt in your mouth.

Don't believe Google Maps when it tells you to park across the river and walk! 0 stars for that bit of advice when it was pouring rain. Clara's has a lot on it's side of the river, no matter what Maps tells you.

As for Clara's, the menu is extensive--great for large groups with varying tastes. Can't decide between Mexican, pizza, pasta, subs, or more? This place has you covered! Food was great, atmosphere was interesting, drink menu on point Just not many vegetarian or vegan options, unfortunately.

I was expecting so much more although nothing bad to say about this place. It reminds me of a ordinary sit down restaurant. Good prices. I did read in the reviews they don't except service animals. If I find this is true I will move my rating to a one star.

It breaks my heart to write this, but the famous Clara's on the River has seen much better days. The old train station setting is still very attractive if not dated. However, compared to a decade ago, the food has seen a definite decline. What used to resemble and taste like something closer to made to order now tastes very processed and rushed. This was once my go to when entertaining business relations and management from the head office. I now go to the Canal Street Cafe in Augusta for those needs. I really hope that Clara's takes a look at their massive menu, simplify and opt for quality over quantity. I'm cheering for this place.

Get the Mile High Chocolate Pie, it's AWESOME.
The place is REALLY sweet. The setting is wonderfully done. The place is a remodeled really old train station. They have a HUGE fireplace (as pictured) that is in my estimation (by memory) maybe ten foot long by six feet tall. The tables are nicely sized and you aren't squished in and without elbow room.
The food is delectable and fine.
The help there are many and great workers. Tip them well if you can. ;)

Overall my GF and I LOVE going there.

They had the most delicious Cesar salad I've ever had, and my boyfriend had the best French opinion soup. Entrees were good as well, thought the manicotti was a tad tomato-y for my taste (though I am pretty particular about tomatoes so I wouldn't shame the restaurant for that), and my boyfriend loved his Reuben.
The menu was massive, we were a little worried that the food wouldn't be good or that it would take forever but we were wrong on both accounts. Service was great, food was AMAZING, we will definitely be returning.
Oh, we ordered desserts as well. I recommend the turtle cheesecake!

Love Clara's on the River. The service is always good. The food is excellent and there is a great variety. The patio on the River is a great place to people watch. Clara's ids my favorite place in Battle Creek to meet friends for drinks and dinner. Well worth the drive from Lansing now that our Clara's - in Lansing -has closed and is being redeveloped.

Only go here occasionally but I love it the prices are fair for the good food. But what really stands out is it's the environment it's a beautiful place to eat. If you have not been you need to try it.

Would give less stars if possible, worst customer service I've ever had in my life. One of there emploees disrespected me for no reason, tried to talk to the owner he did nothing. Would not recommend to anyone the owner himself has terrible customer service and refused to make things right with me as he would not even speak with me about his employee disrespecting me HORRIBLE SERVICE

Great place. Been a few times, but not recently. Came at 5pm on a weekday and there were plenty of seats. Great hh deal with 6 oysters and a wine or beer for $12! Oysters are very good and you get to choose from 3. Not the most amazing but fresh. The fettuccini with clams is a must get! I was pretty disappointed that I only got 8 clams (yes I counted!!) but when I perused through other pics of this place on Yelp everyone clearly got a lot more clams than me (like 10-12). I felt a bit ripped off but Ah well. Our waiter was nice enough to bring us a plate of toast points so I could sop up all the extra oil and garlic (prob due to my missing clams!! Yes I'm slightly bitter but my heart will eventually heal).

Also ordered the Uni, salmon roe and egg yolk dish and it was divine! Creamy, rich and perfect. Crab cakes were delicious as well. Will definitely be back! Come early right when it opens to be able to def get a seat. When we left there was already multiple parties waiting.
