Considering you're in the middle of one of the greatest metropolises on the planet, this is an amazing, fairly Serene Zoo. The grounds are very well maintained, it's fun to wander around and see the various animals, and the Penguin enclosure is always a fun place to go, and nice cool spot in a hot summer day. There could be a little bit of a wait to get your tickets in a crowded day, but it's always a fun experience. It's a small place, you could probably do it in an hour if you had to, but plan to spend 3 hours or so here and not rush yourselves. Plenty of time for rushing around when you head back into the city

An awesome place to do a date or a family day. The admission is not expensive at all, but then the zoo isn't all that big. It will keep you busy or kill a few hours. The exhibits were all clean, the animal selection was also great for the size of the zoo. Over it's a good place to visit if you haven't done so already.

Great zoo with a large variety of animals. Easy layout, interactive areas for children to climb, crawl into turtle shells, etc. Petting zoo would be great if you could go inside to touch animals. Prices were reasonable.

I go to a lot of zoos and I absolutely loved this one. The seals were the happiest seals I’ve ever seen in my life. They were doing flips and smiling for the crowd without trainers even being there! They just seemed to love being the center of attention. The other animals were amazing too but the seals really stole the show for me.

The zoo was very well presented. Although the zoo is quite small what they do have there was great. I was able to see the seal and sea lion feedings which was really cool. One of my favorite parts was the tropical zone. There are just so many animals you have to look out for. It was a shame the day I went I didn't see the grizzly bears. Worth a visit for sure it you have an hour or two.

Very small zoo but then that is expected for the middle of Manhattan! Bears etc unfortunately couldn't be seen when we visited. They must have been sleeping. The bird section was very good and my little one enjoyed it. Space could have been better used though. There is a lot of dead ends and better sign posting could be good.

My 15 year old daughter and I spent the morning there at the end of august, the otters and penguins where so adorable and the feeding shows were entertaining. The 4D ice age show was short and corny but we loved it. We also enjoyed our stroll through the children's petting zoo.

It's not as big as some other zoos, but they have quality habitats for the animals, a lot of conservation information, and beautiful landscaped garden areas to just sit and hang out enjoying the day. It's a perfect size to see everything in one visit without completely exhausting yourself and feeling like you got your money's worth. You'll still be left with plenty of energy and time to enjoy other things Central Park has to offer.

Small, lovely zoo. Last time I visited was in 2011 when they still had a polar bear. Unfortunately it has passed away and they replaced it with two female grizzlies. I really like the bird habitat where the birds fly around freely. They have a sealion feeding show which is fun to watch. I also like the penguin habitat; I think this is the first zoo I ever visited that actually has multiple species of penguins; they have 4 different species. There are 5 different penguin species in total so I wonder why they don't have the fifth one.

Love this little Zoo. It's not a whole day experience , but admission gets you into this Zoo , as well as the petting zoo across the way. You even get a little show from the sea lions if you're around during feeding time.

A great but small zoo. The animals are treated very well and the staff is more than happy to tell you everything about the animals. Great place to spend an hour or so.

Small zoo but has beautiful exhibits and amazing animals! Go on a week day and make sure to catch a sea lion feeding (they list the times). The tropic zone bird house was surprisingly one of my favorite parts. The only thing I didn't love was the penguin exhibit.. seemed way too cramped for all those guys :/ hopefully they have more space not shown to the public

The zoo is very conveniently located in the middle of Central Park, so you will have to walk a bit to get to it. Parking in the city, like I'm sure you know, is very difficult I plan ahead. Ticket prices are reasonably priced and the attractions are definitely worth it. For a city attraction it is not as crowded as you would expect. The facility is very well maintained.
