BEWARE from this company!! They have a bedbug INFESTATION AND THEN THEY ACCUSE THE TENANT OF BRINGING IN THE BUGS AND MAKE THE TENANTS RESPONSIBLE FOR EXTERMINATION. Read lease thoroughly. Site manager was the most unprofessional person you could ever deal with. The washing machines and dryer maintenance is non existent!! They are FILTHY!! The apartment windows are not energy efficient so your power bill will be high all year round.
DO NOT RENT from these slumlords!! They have a bedbug migration from apartment complex itself and have tenant sign a bedbug agreement as if they were specialists! BEWARE!! Take lease to a lawyer before you sign it! Site manager was the most unprofessional person you could ever deal with. The washing machine and dryer maintenance is non existent!! They are FILTHY!! The windows are supposedly energy efficient ask your power bill BEWARE!!
I lived at this apartment complex for a year and when I moved in they changed the floors which was great. As the year went on I noticed mold developing in my bathroom coming from under the floor. I called the Office to fix it and the matnence man put splash guards up in the shower and did not address the mold at all. I got sick as a result and so did my pets. I also paid every month for pest control and in my apartment I had ants, flies, spiders and Beatles.
When I have my 30 day notice they said that would be the last time I would need to pay but a week after I moved they sent me a bill for $855 stating that I did not give them a written warning that I was moving out and that I needed to pay a late fee when they never gave me the first bill.
I know they've changed hands, but this place should be ashamed of themselves. My elderly (is 70 elderly?) moved into a unit in April. I complained about the place to no avail. They wanted us to pay money we didn't have to move her. They are condeming the unit and moving her for free now. It took them this long. The floor has sunk so much there are worms crawling under the carpet which is laying on roughly dirt and broken concrete.
Ms. Hernandez was very helpful and polite at Castle Point. I was very pleased with how the process went and I will recommend CP to all my friends and family. Thank you!!!
I have had nothing but issues with my apartment since I moved in. My water heater has gone out numerous times and I've had to go days with hot hot water till it got fixed. One time when I called the emergency number the lady said since I already put a order in there was nothing she could do. I waited a few mins and called again and spoke to someone someone else who immediately called the on-call people and they were down here and check it out. I've had my bedroom window broken out and put a work order in and it was almost a week before they came and fixed it and that was only because I called Selden and complained about it and they called the office and sent them down there saying that they never received my work order which they did cause I have the confirmation email from submitting it. I have seen drug deals going on in the parking lot my apartment smells like straight marijuana found the people above me smoking all the time to the point that when I come home and walk in my door you would think that I was just in here smoking. My biggest problem is the washer and dryer situation when you work 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. 4 days a week and go to school 2 days a week when you want to put money on your laundry card the office is always closed they need to put machines to load money under your cards down by the washer and dryer to make it more convenient for the people that live here not all of that one washer will take your money from you and charge your card and not turn on one guy or smells like something caught on fire in it. I've never lived in an apartment but building that has never had washer dryer hookups in the apartments that weren't at an extra cost you're paying the electric bill and you're paying the water bill. It really sucks that on your one day off you want to get your laundry done and you can't because there's no way to load your card and go do your laundry now I'm going to have to take my son out I'm going to have to go to the laundromat what's the convenience of that? With all my issues that I have had, these apartments are way over priced. The park is usually muddy in flooded the pool table is wobbly and going to break as well as the air hockey table that's downstairs and ever since I've been here I've been trying to go to the tanning beds and they're always broke and unavailable. And the pool was closed for a period of time due to it being green.I'll finish up my lease but I won't renew it. OH and the parking situation that is ridiculous I cannot park in front of my building at all because there's nowhere to park I have to park buildings down for my place to park. These apartments are just not what I was expecting at all. The only good thing is the location.
If i could leave a zero star rating i would. The staff is rude. They act as if they could care less. I've been here for about 8 months and from day one my apartment has had roaches. I've repeatedly brought this to their attention and I am told it is my responsibility to schedule pest control and my responsibility to schedule them to keep coming back. I'm sick of dealing with this roach problem that they don't seem to give a dam about. My building is in the back corner and the entire outside of the building is in deplorable condition. No grass, no landscaping, trash everywhere, and the hillside is washing away because there is no grass anywhere on it. The neighbors carry on with loud music and yelling on the balcony at all hours of the night. When I brought this to their attention they gave me the after hours security number, which is all fine and good but they never answer! The management company plays games with changing their rules ect. without telling you. They try to cheat you out of your money with fees for this and fees for that. Oh and the pest control i mentioned, yeah YOU have to pay it! The worst move I've ever made moving here. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!
I had an unfortunate experience with Castle Point in my apartment search. I called ahead last Wednesday to schedule an appointment to see an apartment for the following Saturday. I showed up on time, but the lady who greeted me said that they were not informed that I was showing up. When I asked if I could see a 1 bedroom apartment, she told me that she didn't have any available to show. She couldn't tell me if there were any available because as she said, she didn't have any of the apartments she managed, and she didn't know if her coworkers had any units they managed available. I asked if they could look into it and let me know if any were available for showing/rent, and she said no - I would have to call in every couple of days to see if anything opened up. I'm not sure what their processes are, but in my experience, it should be easy to know what units are available and when. I'm sad to say that the appointment I was very much looking forward to turned out to be a complete waste of time.
The lack of professionalism was regrettable. I scheduled an appointment to see an apartment, which was not kept by the staff, and they seemed uninterested in actually finding a place for me to stay. The only fortunate thing from this experience I can say is that I know that I can safely cross Castle Point off my list of potential places to rent. If this is how they treat prospective tenants, then I'm nervous to consider how they would treat their residents.
I've moved to hell!! I got my apartment less than a month ago, and within the first two week, IT FLOODED!!!!! A Pipe broke and my apartment floded, I miss 2 days of work, I still had some clothes and other things on the floor, it all got wet, I had to dry clean all my clothes.. The carpet was all stained after the flooding! It's still stained, my apartment smells like humidity, this is just awful.. Parking is hell everytime.. Seriously people, do not come here!!! And Castle Point management has NOT OFFER ME ANY COMPENSATION FOR ANY OF HE TROUBLE THAT THEY HAVE CAUSED ME SO FAR! this really has become in one of the worst desitions I've made!!!! There's nothing worst that come to your apartment, your home.. And not want to be there because it's just awful! And yet rent it's due on the 1st and I have to pay the full amount even though I had all these problems that castle point is causing me! Great!!
Have not had much of a problem living here besides the maintenance. That being said most of the staff is very polite but apparently someone decided not to take my work order seriously. I had put a work order in to get my A.C. fixed a few weeks ago because it was over 85 degrees in my apartment which i told the woman i placed the work order with over the phone that morning about 9a.m. and all i received back (two days later) was an email saying it's no longer A/C season so they wouldn't fix it also went in later the day i placed the work order to see when it was going to be done because I hadn't heard anything about the process yet.. although it was only 75 degrees outside my apartment was over 85, and as simple as opening a screen door would be I'm not able or my house somehow becomes flooded with stink bugs which i am getting very annoyed with cleaning up ALL THE TIME. Seriously have no idea how these things keep getting in 24/7 even with all my Windows and screens closed. Thank you for not coming to fix my A/C I'm 37 weeks pregnant And my house once again is over 80 degrees and does not want to cool off with the two box fans and ceiling fan going. Not happy with the way my situation was handled and also should be passing maintenance my electric bill since I'm having to constantly keep box fans plugged in around my apartment.
My boyfriend and I have been living here for about 2 months now, we've had a good experience so far, the leasing agents are SO nice and answered all our questions on the spot, got a great deal on our apartment. We looked around for months before we decided castle point was the place for us and I'm so glad we did. Only thing I'm worried about is our electric bill in the winter because from I've read they can get very high. We had to put a work order in for our water heater, they got to us in about a week and a half (they were short staffed and it wasn't a total emergency) and the workers were so polite and professional. As of now we are very satisfied. The gym and other facilities are amazing!
This place is terrible. The maintenance sucks.. There were so many things wrong with our apartment when we got it.. Our washers break every time we use them and we have to hand dry our loads along with using their dryers. They give us no compensation for this either. Our power has gone out 5 times in 5 months too. AC was broke multiple days before it got fixed. On a positive note the workout center is nice and so are the people that work in it.
Just signed to live there for my fourth year and I am very satisfied with my living situation. When there is a problem, the staff takes care of it immediately. For instance, my dishwasher was so outdated and it eventually broke, I put in a work order and two days later I had a new dishwasher. It is generally very quiet and I can sit on my porch and nobody bothers me. The staff is awesome. Brittany is a joy to work with!
The only complaint I would have is that parking can be a pain, but there is always a spot, even if I have to walk a little further. They recently decided to paint the common hallways and got paint on my rug outside the door and on my doorknob. Not a big deal, but just figured I'd have a reason for not giving 5 stars.
They just put in a new deck which is really nice. Overall, I can't really complain. The common areas (pool, etc) is really nice.
Happy I decided to live here and I would recommend to a friend :)
