Food was OK. Margaritas was OK. Friendly service. A total average. Next time I will try another restaurant. Not that this one was bad just that was average.

The food was really good. I'd give the food 4 stars. I could probably eat the chips and salsa all day. The carne asada meat was great. I gave 5 stars because you can't beat the atmosphere-- colorful tables, chairs and umbrellas in a Spanish style courtyard. It was really crowded, but still truly cool. There was a great experience for these visitors to eat lunch to the music of a live Mariachi band.

Great touristy place. Fun place to hangout. Food was okay. We ordered chicken with salsa tamales with side of rice and beans for main course. Chips with guacamole and salsa as appetizer.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in San Diego. I have introduced this restaurant to family and friends alike and all love the food and atmosphere. I would recommend you try it. BTW, they have live music and a stage open to the public surrounded by great gift shops.

Great service. Food was excellent. They even had some nice live entertainment and interesting decoration. Definitely a good spot to hang out on a weekend night.

Fun and exciting location in Old Town. Excellent food, even better than Mexican food in TX which is my gold standard. The food was original, not too spicy, and tasted great. Several local groups / wedding parties enjoying themselves as they ate, always an indications of a good restaurant.

Good food. End up feeling a little full because there's so much food! It's a little too pricey for the quality but the environment and service makes it worth it. I recommend coming with a group and ordering a margarita pitcher.

First time here. So disappointed because we were really looking forward to dine here! My family and I were visiting from Chicago and meeting my sister in law for a nice get together. Unfortunately my 8 year old daughter started feeling not good so my husband had to rush to get medicine while we were waiting for the table. And we wanted to stay to wait for him. We had our name on the list. My husband also ordered a drink at the bar and had to leave with me there with a two year old till he comes back. The bartender told me I could not stay there with my daughter at the bar cause she was little, so I said we'll wait a little futher from the bar till my husband comes back. He asked me to pay the bill, and I said my husband will take care of it as soon as he gets back. But he was really mean and insisted me repeatedly to take care of it right away. I responded that I can not till he comes back. And I walked away from the bar. After my little one and I were waiting for about ten minutes at the gift shop there and I was chased by the manager with the bill for one margarita! He came up to me and also insisted to pay for the drink right away. I was really embarrassed. I told my husband is going to be there any minute and will pay the bill. But the manager also insisted to take care of it right away. I asked for the owner's name and definitely want to share my terrible experience here. I felt like a criminal with the two year old next to me. My husband came couple minutes later, paid the bill and of course we left imediatelly to go to another place across the street were people treated with respect! Such a poor understanding about hospitality and terrible attitude. I hope the money he got will pay his bills if they still will have the job there!

The service here was great and it was fast as well. Once we were seated, not even a minute later our waitress attended us. We only waited for about 10 minutes until our food was ready. The food was amazing, but a little bit pricey. It's understandable considering that it is in old town San Diego. I 100% recommend!

Great atmosphere, food was good but not great. Long wait the first time we tried, so came back earlier the next day.

Located in the heart of Old Town San Diego, this was a fairly standard Mexican style restaurant. We sat outside, close to the stage area where there were dancers in traditional garb, dancing traditional dances—at least that was the impression that a gringo like me got.
Both the food and the drinks were fine, nothing unique or special. Service was very good, prompt and polite, checked back often despite being very busy. Seemed a little pricey, but I’m sure that doing business in the Old Town is expensive—I think I saw some extra taxes/charges for being in a historic site.
Anyway, no reason not to go here, but don’t make a special trip either.

Super disappointed. The atmosphere is awesome, with nice outdoor seating and beautiful gardens around so I really wanted to like this place. However, it took 15 minutes for us to even be greeted after we were seated. 20 minutes just for our chips and water. Only to be disappointed that my crispy taco was deep fried and greasy, and my tortilla soup was very heavy and greasy as well. About 10 minutes after eating, my stomach hurt, I had a bad headache, and felt really light-headed and tingly. I did not have any alcohol, but felt like I had a hangover. My husband didn't feel that great afterwards either, and I realized that my symptoms were exactly like the symptoms I get to MSG. I am highly sensitive to MSG, and suffer from MSG Symptom Complex. So not only was the food inauthentic and mediocre, I am now super irritated that they use MSG. I felt terrible all throughout the night and into the next day. Never again.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been too. My meal was really tasty. The free chips were great. The Horchata was legit. Our waitress was super nice and wonderful. Great ambiance and a nice break from strolling around Old Town.
