I have been going here for nearly 30 years. Love it!! Great for families and it's a nice stop of you are passing through. Good food activities and candy shop.
This is one of my most favorite places to stop on a road trip. I will drive out of my way and take Hwy 152 just so I can stop at Casa De Fruta. They have so much to do there, they have a restaurant, a candy shop, a giant fruit stand, they have animals that you wouldn't believe. They even have a small 🚆 that gives rides. I've been going here ever since I was a small girl with my mama & daddy.
I'm proud to say that 6 generations of my family have been coming to Casa De Fruta Orchard and will continue to do so.
Its nice here, but like a ghost town.there are travellers everywhere but not around the grounds. Its has old antique farming equipment everywhere..its seems their theme with train and animal compounds was never realized, or strictly by season, with no markings telling us what the times or days or months.nothing. Great place for a pit stop. Been coming here for over 45 years.
Great place to visit for the family. However, some of the rides for kids are fairly old and could use some updating. But for nostalgic reasons its fun to see. The store has a great variety of candy, drinks, toys and great charm. The restaurant serves great dishes of all varieties and overall this is a great place to stop at when traveling from the valley to coastal and mountain areas. You won't be disappointed.
Used to work here years ago and always stop for their fresh fruit and wine. They're busy during summer and weekends. Handicap parking near restaurant. Train rides for the kiddies. Bakery has wonderful pies. A mat to visit while traveling
Wonderful stop with great food and a variety of shopping. Always something going on. This time they were all decorated for Fall festivities. Something here for all age groups.
Great open fruit market, locally grown produce, nuts, candy, Large wine selection. Shops, restaurant. Outdoor family attractions, train rides for kids. Large teepee. Best time to visit is during warmer weather. We always stop here when travelling from the Monterey area. A long time favorite.
Very cute tourist stop. A bunch of kids' activities, local produce and delicious food. Terrific customer service in the restaurant.
Some areas of improvement:
***our restaurant order was not complete when it came to the table
***though our waitress was wonderful, the opposite was true of the clerks in the fruit market. Completely void of customer service.
I'm sorry to say that I have been passing by here for 20 years and this is the first time I've ever had a chance to stop and check out this wonderful establishment. From dinner to everything available at the fruit stand, everything is top notch. Next time through, I will definitely stop, and every trip afterwards.
I've been coming here since I was a little kid I'm 57 years old now so I took my mom there yesterday just to see what it looked like. I can remember when the highway drove right in front of the place and I thought that the bypassing would kill it. Boy was I wrong this place was jumping! It was good to see that it's still there and that it is expanded greatly they seem to be doing a lot of work on the campgrounds it'll be nice if the green grass grows in but there's rides, a train and a big pond with large goldfish or Koi in it it was great not only that but the Chevron gas station that's their has very nice public restrooms pretty nice of them because they have to hire someone full-time just to clean them and they were clean! I go by this place whenever I'm going up to San Luis reservoir to go fishing it's pretty cool
It was okay. I had the Cobb Salad which was good. He had the fried chicken dinner, not so good. Chicken was pre made and dry and veggies were cold. Asked for a manager and he did make it right. The prime rib is very good.
Love coming here for the fresh fruit, snacks, and candy. The bakery also has some delicious pastries if you can swing by early enough before they sell out. My little one adores the train and carousel on the weekends. They also have a playground area for kids to run around and stretch their legs.
I loved coming here when I was a kid the train seems very nostalgic to me the playground seems very nice and I just love how cramped the red slide is. The nuts and dried fruit is pretty expensive for the most part. If you come on a weekday in the morning expect to see little kids from schools they get on your nerves but only stay there about 10 minutes and wouldn't recommend you using the bathroom while it's packed with little kids.
Another of those places that is so cheesy it's awesome. Great place for kids. Good shopping for dried fruits and nuts and fruit candies. The shopping is fun. Sandwich shop. Good place to stop on a long trip. Place to walk your dog.
Good stop for road trips. Nice to have gas station, store and restaurant all in the same location. Food at the restaurant is subpar and sometimes, the place looks like it could use a good cleaning. Got food poisoning once from the tuna salad sandwich. The pies are delicious though so skip the entree but GET THE PIES!
