My brother and I visited this place this weekend for their brunch.

Omgosh!! The place was beautiful and that is the reason for the one star.

The food selections weren't conducive for vegetarians nor was the food good. The food was lukewarm, and even the gravy had meat in it and it was horrible tasting. The only foods that were tasty was the smoked salmon and the little narrow cups of Greek yogurt fruit and with the mango sauce.

This place was crawling with unsupervised kids who were playing with this Donut Rack.
They were touching all of the donuts at the bottom.

    Germs!!

Overall, my brother and I weren't pleased with the outcome of this place and will not be returning.

Went here with a few of my sweet friends from college I hadn't seen in quite a while. After seeing the prices, it was kind of a relief to find out that one of the girls' dads wanted to treat us to whatever we wanted. Definitely expensive, but the food is absolutely delicious and our waiter was super attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is very bright and colorful to go with the Brazillian vibe, but there were some pretty explicit photos on the walls that were detracting and unnecessary. I would think twice about coming back for that reason. Overall though, it was a nice place for a dressed-up night on the town with friends.

We attended a surprise birthday dinner earlier this month at Carnivale. We were a group of 14, 3 young kids included. A set menu was served which was a very wise choice; it also helps the fine waiters serve you better. The food was delicious! Two of the kids just arrived from a long trip so they were tired & upset. The head waiter was so kind & patient and offered his very best to make them happy. We tried, too! Well, one of kids vomited. I caught it all in the napkin and on my pants. One of the waiters quickly assisted. Not once did any of our servers roll their eyes or complainbless them! For the most part the kids were well-behaved. Anyway, we still had a wonderful time! A shout-out to the waiters for their outstanding service!

We came with a party of 18, including a couple of kids under 10. The food was good though overpriced. The environment is visually vibrant but noisy, and the service was spotty. It could be our waiter was just having an off night or there was a staffing issue. He was slow in getting the orders taken, food/drinks were delivered to the wrong people, and he was seemingly unable to figure out how to split the checks as instructed.

Probably a better destination for a smaller group, who likes creative/exotic drinks, without younger children, and don't mind the noise and prices (or the R rated pictures in the restrooms).

Chicago has so many amazing restaurants with food that's as good or better for the price, and with much better service.

I wouldn't suggest trying to have a major event there, it took forever to get attention from the receptionist and host My event, I was charged for seating area when I was only inviting guests to just enjoy happy hour, the staff was kind of rude rushing people and not in demand, there is not enough lighting when taking photos. The meals are quite expensive for the amount served on a plate. The food is great, appetizers awesome and I love the scenery.

Carnivale is truly top-notch! This is a South American restaurant, not Mexican, not necessarily Brazilian. Given that Latin American cuisine is fairly spicy, though South American cuisine is not as hot as Mexican. Of course, plenty of delicious food items are available, for both starters and main courses! I am unable to vouch for the authenticity of the food, but no matter, it's great! And the interior is marvelous! I know you can't eat decor, but if I could, I would! For real though, it sets a lively atmosphere. Highly recommended, must visit!

First time visiting Carnivale, we made a reservation, we did arrive about 5 mins late and they took like 20 mins to seat us. Apparently, that's how it always is. Food was good, they don't have a big selection to chose from. Drinks were excellent! The atmosphere was very fun and exciting. Beautiful restaurant.

Cool place, unique atmosphere. If you have a group of 20+ call ahead and they can accommodate you and make everyone happy. The place is simply massive.

One of my favorite places to dine! Great for date nite or a group of friends! The food is excellent! The drinks are strong and the dessert is festive and delicious. Never have had a bad experience. I recommend making a reservation, because you will wait long!
