Very nice roo., and EXTREMELY gracious staff. Food was amazing also. Went for a Christmas party and they couldn't have been a better host. Also stayed the night, rooms were very clean and the bed was very comfortable.

I stay at Hilton properties almost every week for my career, so I have experienced a wide variety of what is offered across the globe. While I cannot speak anything but praise for the hotel management and staff I experienced a much less favorable experience with the restaurant manager, Matt H., and his treatment towards myself and my coworkers. I feel that his treatment of us may have been biased since he chastised us for the same behavior that we observed from other guests throughout our weeklong stay at the Cape Rey resort. It left me feeling a stark lack of hospitality from the Chandler's restaurant management. In contrast out waitress, Kate, was extremely friendly and attentive so it seems that it is only a higher level issue. I hope the Cape Rey senior management values it's overall impression enough to attend to any shortcomings experienced by their customers.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cape Rey Carlsbad, even if it was only one night. The property was beautiful with lots of cool amenities. The outdoor pool, jacuzzi, seating area, and fireplaces were a great way to wind down in the evening and even hang out in the morning before having to hit the road. I was a little mislead by the way the property was presented as it is *not* beach front – it's set back behind a campground and a few streets. While you're pretty close and can see the ocean from your room, it's not exactly right on the beach. A closer look at Google Maps would have shown that, so I can't pass the blame too much on that point. The main drawbacks that kept me from rating a five out of five is the inclusion of a nightly "resort fee" that is on top of the base room rate, which felt a little misleading for overall pricing, and the steep price for nightly self parking in an area that could hardly be considered busy. If you do go, be sure to grab drinks and watch the sunset by the pool and take the bikes (paid for by your resort fee) for a cruise down by the beach. Overall, we had a good stay and would consider visiting here again in the future.

The staff was friendly and the room was comfortable. They did overbook my style of room and I had to downgrade but they waived some of my bill for the inconvenience. Be aware, there is charging for parking and "resort" fee. They have a convenient shuttle that will take you to the Village which has shopping and Beach access for free which is nice. I would stay again.

Second time I've been here for a professional event. The snacks for breakfast, the lunch, as well as hors d'oeuvres for the evening were great. Location is pleasant with beautiful ocean view. The facilities were clean. It was an enjoyable experience.

What a beautiful resort! Rebekah checked us in, and was so cool! She gave us a spectacular room with a killer view! I think all rooms would have some sort of great view, but ours was special! Great room, great location, and friendly staff! Even the porters were on point! Thanks so much!

overall a good stay, great location, easy access to beach. The rates are up there but it was middle of summer so I'm sure everywhere else to stay was similar. The resort itself is the same as any other Hilton in look and amenities from what I saw at least. Last thing would be that I thought check in/front desk staff are far from friendly or welcoming. No hello or word spoken when I was walking up. The guy just gave a look of waiting for me to speak.

Overall stay was indeed amazing. Valet, front desk, housekeeping, and poolside bar service were all excellent. Only constructive feedback is to have more staff at poolside service. Grace was amazing at our service but to have a single person waiting on 10-30 guests at a time is a bit much to ask for one person and it increases wait times. Saturday night there were 2 on staff but 20-30+ people to serve late afternoon / early evening (5-8pm was our time at the pool just for reference). Would definitely stay again!!!

Our company had a business conference at Cape Rey Carlsbad. The facilities were very good and the support team accommodating. We quickly transitioned from a large room to smaller rooms for break out sessions. When we decided to set up a group outside the hotel team quickly set up a table with umbrellas. The grounds are beautiful with views of the ocean. The catering its ok. There is an on site restaurant. For hotel guests, the rooms are nice and there are decent amenities. My only real complaint is that the resort is fairly isolated. There aren't many other restaurants in the area.

The room is nice and clean. We also attended several conferences and work event here. The food and services were good. The only complaint I have is that there is only one elevator location, so the walks to the rooms can be quite far and cumbersome with the luggages.

The room was upgraded because of the busy pool area and location of the original room which displays great customer service. The rooms are normal sized but nice on the interior and the view is excellent. The restaurant is very good as well.

Would have stayed elsewhere. This place needs some interior work, scuffed walls, door slams everytime. Not a resort experience like you would find at Lowe's or such, really just a hotel, but they charge a daily resort fee. Highway noise is bothersome and makes the balcony a waste. There has been a cracker crumbs and bits in stairway 5 for 3 days, no one has cleaned it. In room fridge is awkward. In room coffee is not restocked with daily cleaning, so have to go track down creamer, etc. Front desk has hit or miss attentive staff. Some are fantastic, a few make it seem like you are inconveniencing them and I actually got an eye roll from one. Overall, not a good Hilton experience, which was a let down as we like Hilton run hotels and resorts. For the cost and hype, I really expected more.

Cape Rey is pretty good so far. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Chandlers restaurant has very good food. Oceancrest spa is totally worth going to for a massage or what have you. The Ocean View balcony rooms have amazing views. You can walk down to the beach in about 5 minutes. All in all I am having a great time and would do it again.
