This was our first time to a bed and breakfast. We stayed in the Presidents suite and it was wonderful. The bed was comfy, food was great, and the innkeeper was very hospitable and helpful. The views were beautiful. We were very pleased.
LOVE this place. Review is LONG overdue, but this was a magical place. We stay in a lot of places across the country (and world) and there's just something about this house, the location.the experience was wonderful. Doc was a perfect host, and a fabulous cook as well! Love to stay there again sometime! Oh, and if you hear any bumps in the night in the room closest to the end of the stairway (and the door to the upstairs porch), don't think anything of it. :)
Does not honor gift certificates and waits until the Monday before your arrival to send a canceled confirmation - when all was well the following Thursday. Does not return calls in a professional manner and is completely incompassionate. We will not stay here and will consider the PURCHASED gift certificate a loss, but I can promise you. This isn't over yet, Doc. Media will be contacted and social media will be made aware.
Doc Adams, the owner, was waiting for us when we arrived and warmly greeted us and explained where our room was. Breakfast was wonderful and filling. The room was very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
Very friendly staff! Excellent facilities and very peaceful area of Ashe County. Very pleased with my stay!
Great place to "get away from it all!" Stayed for four days at Doc's Buffalo Tavern, as part of a week long getaway in western NC. Doc is a great resource for the Ashe county area, and won't hesitate to hook you up with things to do and places to eat. The inn has a wonderful porch, so feel free to sit out in the evening and relax, after a long day of hiking or kayaking! Breakfast is great, and service is thoughtful and efficient. Quiet, peaceful, with a great host: what more can you ask for?
