I had such a great time and really glad I decided to go with Wahoo Adventures for tubing. Booked everything online and had zero problems with my reservation. It was a little chilly, so I upgraded to the premium tubes that was more seat-life than the regular tubes. However, the staff was in good spirits and so friendly. Such a great location for tubing in the NC mountains! Definitely coming back again next summer!!

Our first experience tubing the New River and Wahoo's. If you just want a lazy day relaxing, then tubing is where it is at. Perfect for small kids. Wahoo's made it enjoyable. Will definitely be back for kayaking and white water!!

Wahoo's Adventures is a MUST while in western North Carolina. My triplet sons and I did the adventure for the first time this summer and I was nervous, but they were excited! They're attention to safety while fitting us for a life vest and helmet was impressive. Our guide was Ethan.(Recommend him)He made me feel very confident in his craft. Then we were told to "take all valuables off and if you don't want it to get wet, lost or ruined don't bring it."
We then all get on a school bus type vehicle that the guides drive to where we launch the rafts. If at all possible try to get a waterproof case for your phone or bring a GoPro. The photo ops are amazing and that would be the only thing I regret is that we didn't get pics during the ride.
Lunch was outstanding. Sandwiches with lunch meat, cheese, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, condiments, chips, cookies, drinks. Because you're in the south and these great guys are gentleman, ladies go first to start their lunch. We get to the place for lunch, remove helmet and vest stretch and the next thing I knew the whole lunch was placed like a buffet style. Awesome scenery to eat lunch leisurely. A 10 minute warning until launch. the lunch was put away as fast as it was put out. Amazing teamwork! Some surprises on the back end of this trip.
This is an adventure that is very well organized, the staff have the guests' safety ALWAYS considered. Go on this trip you won't regret it.
PS. Pack some carrots from lunch in your pockets to throw at other raft teams unexpectedly. It is really fun!!response / report this review -

Had an absolutely great time. We had a group of 13 from age 8 to 60s. We had 3 rafts and guides and everyone had alot of fun. We had Bert as a guide and I would suggest him to anyone for a great experience. I have made many runs on whitewater and this was a great experience for the kids and adults.

We took our staff for a floating trip down the New River with Wahoo's Adventures and had absolutely the best experience! The staff was super friendly, organized, and accommodating to our group. The fun didn't stop after the float trip. We had lunch, relaxed and played outdoor games at their top notch facility at the New River Outpost! An all around great way to spend a day in the High Country!

Unreal experience all thanks to Ethan, Patrick and Amanda!!! They were amazing tour guides who provided us with a great experience, interesting facts, fun times and a great day!! Unforgettable! So happy we chose Wahoo's! The Nolichucky ride was the best!!!

VERY POLITE/friendly staff. VERY CLEAN restrooms/shower area. Beautiful scenery. Overall an enjoyable experience except: Very Disorganized shuttle waiting/boarding process. Basically we got sent outside to wait (we weren't told where to wait, and once outside no other staff member was out there) for the shuttle that should've been there in about 10 minutes- wound up waiting 35 minutes before shuttle or ANY staff appeared.
HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED that they allowed alcohol on the river! For that reason, I definitely WOULD NOT bring kids! (Which is really a shame because I know a lot of kids that would enjoy the water adventures😫) PLEASE RECONSIDER YOUR ALCOHOL POLICY!response / report this review -

I live in Todd, NC and I have used every tubing company on the New River. Wahoo's is simply the best there is, hands down. I have three small children including a one year old and the reason my family keeps choosing Wahoo's is because they're the only tubing company who has restrooms where I can change my baby's diaper without having to use the side of the road on the ground. The bathrooms at Wahoo's are very nice and clean which is a rare find in the woods on a river. The other tubing companies either don't have bathrooms at all or they just use port-a-johns on the side of the river. You don't know how thankful you'll be that Wahoo's thought of real bathrooms with baby-changing stations until you need to change a diaper. I have had to have my husband hold a towel up like a curtain while I changed my kids' clothes to keep people from seeing us change after tubing with other companies. No roadside clothes-changing at Wahoo's, though. My family has our own tubes but we use Wahoo's anyway for the conveniences of not having to walk for miles with kids or not having to take two cars. Wahoo's shuttles us for only $10 which I'm happy to pay so that I can use their picnic tables, bathrooms and parking area. If you have small children, Wahoo's is the only way to go because you will quickly learn that other companies don't have the luxuries that make tubing with small children easy. Btw, there are no private parking areas on the New River unless you go to Wahoo's. You can either park on the side of the road, park in a public area or park at Wahoo's. So that's a big plus for Wahoo's. The staff is fantastic and they've always made us feel like a priority. I have had to wait for more than an hour with other companies and I've also been turned away by other companies who refused to shuttle our tubes unless we rented theirs. Wahoo's will shuttle you for a small fee and let you use their facilities even if you have your own tubes! Shuttles leave every few minutes so I've never had to wait longer than 15 minutes to get on a shuttle, even when they're busy. It's such a relief not to have to wait when you're with a one year old and a 3 year old. So you might find another company to take you tubing on the New River but you'll also need to prepare to pay more money, change your child's diaper on the ground, use the bathroom in a make-shift outhouse or in the woods and you'll park wherever you can find space for your car. If you're expecting to take a shower at the end of your day, you'll need to go to Wahoo's because there is no hot running water anywhere on the river except at Wahoo's. We always have a great time at Wahoo's but choosing Wahoo's is also just good advice.

We had a great time tubing the New River with Wahoo's. We are area locals, but had friends and family from North Carolina & Florida. Being locals, we knew to use Wahoo's for our tubing trip & they did not disappoint! We had a large group - there were 16 of us - 8 adults & 8 kids. We all had a blast!
We had reservations for 10:00am, but some in our group were late arriving. Some of us waited on the front porch overlooking the beautiful New River, while the kids played Foosball on the Foosball table in the waiting area. We were also able to change into bathing suits and use the bathroom in the log cabin. We were really impressed with how nice the log cabin facility was!
It was not a problem at all that we started late - the employees were quick to load us up in vans as soon as the entire group was ready. It was a short van ride to the drop off location. The van driver gave us some interesting and valuable information about the river while we drove to the drop off spot.
Everyone in our group agreed that we will definitely be doing this again! Thanks for such a great & memorable time tubing the New River, Wahoo's!response / report this review
