This place have gotten more like a ripoff than a fair exchange, they have people buying clothes without a clue to fashion and they buy your clothes for cheap and then get rich off your items u are better selling on eBay you will get more for your money don't trust this business at all.. stay away if u are smart 😡😩
Great merchandise! And I found a gift for the Hubby at the perfect price. I will can see myself being a regular visit. The shop has a great crew and a great vibe
Stopped into Buffalo Exchange on an adventure to find the perfect piece to complete my outfit for Valentines Day and, well, I found way more than I expected! They have some of the best second hand clothes: name brands, popular and up-to-date selection, even cool nick-knacks that would make great gifts. The prices are awesome too. Where else am I going to find a Patagonia jacket for $15?!! Crazy. :-D
I find this place a little difficult to work with. I com here about twice a year and everyone is really friendly and helpful but the lines are always super long. A lot of your time goes in waiting and you have to wait with your bags, cannot leave them in line so they can be checked in your absence. This place is definitely well stocked and has interesting items for purchase but with the plethora of online options to sell clothes, they may be selling themselves short if they don't update the way in which they acquire clothing. When they don't take stuff, you can walk around the corner and drop off at goodwill. They used to have a service but they don't any longer
First time coming here to sell clothes. Within about 2 minutes after the store opened there was already a line, so I waited about 17 minutes. They took everything which is good and the pricing seemed reasonable. The staff were nice and helpful. Would come here again.
Great selection of accessories. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I love this store.
Pickiest hipsters you will ever experience if you are selling. But OF COURSE they will take your stuff to make money. I live around the corner so I thought it would be good to be more local but I found out that they have sticks up their asses.
Chaotic combination of vintage clothes and new (mostly new) and super reasonably priced. Requires hunting through racks, but occasional treasures make it worth the effort. Friendly staff.
It's a great location to buy clothes, but for selling it's absolutely horrific. Expect to wait. Usually a solid hour and then they rush through your buy. I've sold here MANY times, and depending on the buyer, they will sometimes find any reason to turn away even your new with tags designer clothing. Don't bother selling here unless you have a great deal of patience and resilience.
This place is really hit or miss. Sometimes I find great, expensive items for cheap that are in great shape. Other time I walk out with nothing. I definitely recommend this place if you have some time to search around, some of the good stuff is hidden.

I have never sold here, but as for buying, they have a wide range of clothing, and you may have to spend a bit of time there, but you will probably always find at least one item that you like. The staff is very friendly. Don't be deterred by some of the negative reviews. It is just because many people bring in clothes that are probably other too generic, or that buffalo exchange does not want, therefore making the sellers angry because the staff do not accept their clothes for selling. The one criticism is that some of their clothes are a bit more expensive than other thrift/buy sell, trade places, but its still not that bad. You can find many shirts, bottoms etc. between 7-20 dollars.
Picky buyers. The biggest buffalo exchange out of all 6 in NYC. If you want to sell go to the one on Brooklyn(Williamsburg). They buy more from you because this location is not a busy one. That's just what I noticed. This Chelsea location & east village has many sellers and the line can be really long, at all days of the week. Busy for shoppers and more variety of stuff that sells fast.
