Can build fires on the beach with no permit!!! One of the world's most beautiful beaches. Great star-watching. Motel is always clean, some rooms have full kitchens, all have fridges & microwaves. Must have quarters for ice machine, but the price to stay rightght on the Gulf more than makes up for it!

Extremely rude personnel! We were caught by the time change and ended up sleeping one extra hour compared to plans. We still got out by when the cleaning crew had to get in the room, but we made it to the front desk 30 mins late because we loaded the car first! They charged us extra for that. Ended up having to call the police. Manager was called and was extremely rude! Great location, decent hotel, but extremely rude! And all that fiasco for an extra $20 for them!

We've really enjoyed our stay here. Out the door and six feet to the deck. Down the steps to the beach.
The room isn't new, we don't care. It's clean and housekeeping is couteous and efficient.

Wonderful old Florida motel, right on the beach. Very clean! Staff wonderfully friendly and helpful. Room was huge, w/ a kitchenette stocked w/ cookware. Thick walls, could not hear neighbors from inside room. Great local restaurants just across the bridge in Eastpoint.

Hotel is a older type hotel, rooms are very basic. Good WiFi. But the deck overlooking the beach is amazing. Just steps away from the water. Getting up early to catch the sunrise is worth it. Very convenient to many restaurants and other shops. The staff is small but as warm and welcoming as any hotel that you would pay 10x the money. Definitely would recommend to my closet friends and family.

I love it because it's right on the beach! However the rooms could stand to be updated and it would be nice if it were pet friendly.

Decent place to stay on the water with great view. Office staff was nice. Conveniently located in the middle of restaurants, souvenir stores, and the historic lighthouse. Our only complaint would be the shower had very low pressure and some noise.

Location, location, location. Literally 50 steps from the room to the beach. Let's face it, this is not the Ritz but, nor are the prices. Built in the 70's, Beautiful view, rooms are very spacious and clean (ours anyway, we had two) and the staff was great. Beds were comfy. No vending machines on prop. or laundry. But Everything is with in walking distance. Blue Parrot a couple of doors down. Pool was clean. They could spend some time picking up trash from grounds due to lazy guest and dumping out side trash cans and butt cans. General maintenance could use some attention here and there but I guess that is never ending at a hotel of this age. Over all very satisfied. We will be back.

We stayed at the Buckner in for one night before we were able to check into our rental house ok the island. The room was pretty nice, and the beds were comfortable. Despite being an older building it was pretty pleasant. The staff was friendly and being next door to the blue parrot was a plus. A pretty good option for a night stay on the island if you arrive before you can get into your house.

I know this is an old old inn and that has to be taken into considerationI think a dehumidifier would be helpful as the room felt wet the whole time we were there. Our clothes felt damp when in the roomthe bed felt damp carpet too. Some guys partied all night above usand the coffee pot in our room was growing mold (general cleaning issue). Outside of thatwe loved the kitchenette arealove having somewhere to sit comfortably in the room with a table. Just a few steps from the beach which was what we were looking for. Being the only hotel on this beachthe Buccaneer is a good place to stay. Short walking distance (like right across the street) from everything that's on St. George .so great location.

We love the Bucc. It's the only hotel on the island with a swimming pool. The staff are friendly and helpful. In five years we've seen 0 turn over in the housekeeping or front desk staff. The rooms are hurricane proof, meaning they are concrete block bunkers. The carpet has seen its fair share of Sandy feet, so don't feel bad about your kids' sandy feet coming in off the beach. The carpet has been replaced at least once in the past couple of years and the rooms are clean. It's affordable and comfortable for a family beach vacation. We will be back next year!

Big room, with a great view of the ocean. The beds left something to be desired, but I'm here for the beach. I came here with my family, and we all fit comfortably. Bug bathroom, with a jet tub, quiet environment, with easy access to parking, restaurants, shops, parks, and everything we needed. I will bring my family be back.

Even cheap motels provide WiFi accessible to every room, but this place does not. There is only one place where it is available. Otherwise, the visit so far is pleasant.

Very friendly front desk clerk. The room we had was spacious and clean. Parking was great. The bed and pillows were comfy. The inn is accessible to eating establishments, grocery and liquor stores, beach rentals and of course. the beach! Great place to get way for the weekend to just park your car and walk or bike around the island.

Older Inn but functional right on the beach. Very clean room thanks to Cherry👍🏻 Cheerful customer service. Excellent location for exploring the area. New carpet in our room and kitchenette made it even more cost-effective for us. We were poolside. We will come back again.

Loved our stay at the Buccaneer Inn! It's always great to support a locally owned business, but it's a plus when there is a nice clean pool and beautiful beach access. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We were able to walk to dinner at the Blue Parrot. Our morning trip to the beach was made better by seeing dolphins jumping and playing not far from shore. We can't wait to go back again. Our son is already begging to have his next birthday there.
