Long story short: find something else to do, this gym/group of gyms is not worth it.
Equipment is poorly maintained, constantly broken, and dirty. Finding free weights is always a pain because they never seem to reorganize the weight room. The TVs by the cardio equipment never seem to work. The cardio equipment is so crowded together that you’re often fighting for elbow space.
The locations are dank, crowded, and often smelly. The change rooms are in need of a serious refurb, they feel dirty even after having been cleaned.
Hidden fees - an ‘annual fee’ that no one mentions when you sign up, a 45 day cancel notice that required you continue paying for 1.5 months.
Overall, a bad experience from beginning to end.
Great people, surprisingly spacious, ample equipment, clean, reasonably priced. Longer hours would be helpful, especially weekends :-)
Staff was very friendly. Equipment is generally clean and available when I get in around noon. Have had no issues. I just do free-weights, so can't comment on the other section of the gym. They make the best use of space that they can.
The gym is relatively cheap and in the heart of Boston. The only other better gyms I have seen in the city have been 'premium' tier gyms like the Equinox.
The worst manager ever. Andrew Zappala, He was very rude to my boyfriend and I. They just want you money and don’t let you go easily. They manipulate the rules against you when it suits them.
It is ok, not very clean I always see clumps of dust in studios. It has a very small amount group classes for long weekend. It does has some good instructors
BSC, we cancelled months ago in person, and now you are sending on a debt collection agency to us. How do we sort this? Such a horrible end to what was a long membership. Please stop with the threats and third-party debt collection. Please sort this out.
Great downtown gym. Clean and very friendly staff.
Best Boston location I've tried. It has a pool and their equipment is well kept. For personal training I recommend Chris Paduano. He is committed to helping his clients achieve their goals.
Lots of equipment, good classes, trainers are knowledgeable, motivating and personable. Only down side is rush hours; the place gets crowded.
decent amount of machines. trainers nice
Do not go here, it's literally the worst club out of all. I had such a bad experience with a trainer, Alex Carmeli. She was an awful trainer, in fact I gained weight whilst training with her. And when I told her I couldn't afford it, she became extremely rude. I still had 8 sessions left with her before finishing my contract, and she did her best to dodge all of them. She was rude. When I cancelled on her I had to pay, but when she cancelled on me, she thought that was fine!!! Once I arrived late to the session, and that time she didn't even train with me, she was just flirting with this guy and then she told me that I was too late to even train. Hello?! I'm the one paying you!! $600 a month!! Biggest waste of money ever. I hope she gets fired, she doesn't qualify to be a personal trainer.
Decent sized location with lots of machines. Close to the T so easily accessible for city dwellers. There's a pool which is pretty cool.
One of the better BSC's in Boston as it is larger and has a pool. Classes are typically very packed so show up a few minutes early to stake out your space. Also it can be really busy before/after work and during lunch. Plenty of machines, so you won't be waiting for long.
BSC Clarendon stole my checking account info. I was just notified about it by my bank.
Lots of machines and a large space. It is underground so you do not get very good cell phone reception. There is a large pool that rarely gets crowded, so you can swim without making a reservation. Their classes are great with talented and fun instructors.
Tons of machines and a friendly staff. I go during the day so it's never busy. I also grandfathered in on the student rate so I dont have to pay the high prices like other people do. If you're under 22, i highly recommend getting in at this rate while you stil can.
The only downside of this gym is the pool. It's 3 lanes and can only fit 6 swimmers at a time. It's so poorly maintained that I have to say it is the worst pool I have ever been in. I'm convinced they have the janitor dump a bottle of chlorine into it and he just walks away afterwards.
