My sister came to visit from Michigan. She became pretty ill. I took her to Bethany Center Urgent Care as soon as they opened. The staff were exceptionally rude and did not show one ounce of kindness. As I signed my sister in, they were out of hand sanitizer. When I asked for some, they looked at me like I was crazy. They asked if my sister had an appointment which she didn’t. I asked if that was okay as the sign says walk-ins welcome? The receptionist said “I guess so she may have to wait as we have 1 doctor and she’s not here yet”. We said that was fine. She asked my sister to complete some paperwork and passed her a clipboard without a pen. When my sister asked for a pen the receptionist said, “Don’t you have your own”. She said, “no”. Her next reply was,”Isn’t there one out there?” I stated it was attached to the counter. So then the receptionist stated, “I guess you can use mine”. At this point, I told my sister not to complete the paperwork I’d take her to AFC/Doctors Express. The receptionist asked for the paperwork back as I handed her the clipboard. I told her that my sister had started to complete it and we would keep it. She rolled her eyes at me and said whatever. I will never ever set foot in Bethany Medical Center and will strongly discourage others from ever going there.
My sister was treated quickly ( doctors on site at time of opening) and with kindness and respect at AFC/ Doctors Express.response / report this review -

As others have said, questionable billing, and procedures performed when not medically necessary (that is, when their equipment isn't broken). Terrible provider with bad communication, poorly-trained staff, and lack of attention to detail (which isn't good for your primary care provider).

My son had an appointment on Skeet Club today and waited 2+ hours to be seen. When questioned, the rude staff said "we're busy"- they certainly weren't concerned. Don't waste your time here.

Questionable business practices.
I was told by their billing department that an upcoming CT scan was not covered under my insurance and that I would have to pay $670 out-of-pocket. After the procedure was completed I received a letter from my insurance that the services had to be reviewed first. This did not mean that it was denied or that they wouldn’t necessarily cover it. The insurance quickly reviewed the procedure and paid it %100. Now I’m fighting with Bethany over my refund. I called them 6/26/2017 and asked about it. They stated simply that I had a credit on my account and had no intentions of taking any actions other than leaving it as a credit. After asking for a refund they finally agreed. Now, it has been over two weeks later and still no refund, so I called them again today and they told me that nothing had been done to issue the refund, but would start the process now. They then told me that it could take up to eight (8) weeks to complete. I believe that they are trying to draw interest on my money for as long as they can. They just lost a long time patient.
*Update 8/15/2017 - Still no refund and my wife went to the clinic yesterday and found out she also had a 100.00 credit. She has not been a patient with them for a couple of years now. They were just going to sit on her money. Shameful!response / report this review -

I kind of saw it coming leaving this placeStarted off OK and went downhill fast..First that billing department and the mistakes they make with charges that aren't just..Please check your bills because I was charged for things like no shows for appointments when I actually just change the time of itThen I was prescribed a pain medication for my back,had a laminectomy and was a candidate for a back fusion which I declined due to not wanting anymore surgeries so I stayed taking my medsOver a years time my pain medication was cut in half and I was told it was due to the laws being changed..When I actually read the article of what the governor signed into law it didn't apply to me but my doctor told me it did..Iife was hell for me at the time I started my own business registered with the state due to my back issues and not being able to perform on jobs..Personal life issues I mean it was rough..I had no health insurance and it seem when that got around Bethany the word was make him payAnd boy did I pay..Every appointment self pay charging me 300-500.00 every month OUT OF POCKET just for a medication refill that they kept cutting..The services were getting cut and worsened but the price I paid every month steadily increased..One medication they cut out saying they can't prescribe 2 class 2 medications and the other they cut in half without warning..Patient well-being is not Bethany's number one concern,money is..No one has time to change doctors and learn a new one over again but Bethany medical center will leave you no choice..Sometimes I felt they thought I was dumb with the things the doctors would tell me..We all have problems and things happen in life but I fill violated at a man looking back at all I put up with400.00 average a month receptionist looking at me like if you don't have it you can't see doctor..Places like this should be a help but Bethany isntThe front desk charged me a arm and leg for years and doctors played my back injury and the surgery down like get over aafter all these years with no alternative. heed the word of patients avoid this placeI lost complete faith and trust in bethany

I am Happy with the physician assistant I am seeing, but the front desk has no customer service very unprofessional. Also no one working in the medical profession should have long fingernails. Everyone working there seems upset, and very unhappy. If it was not for the physician assistant working there I would not go back.

The billing department is the worst I ever seen here.They bill for procedures that they don't perform.If you are self pay stay away because unlike being insured you will get some regulation. Doctors are ok but the billing department are not competent.

This facility has been trying to charge me for a physical exam that my insurance pays for since October of 2015. No matter how may receipts or I show that I have paid all medical bills received and sending to them by fax, the billing staff keeps telling me that they have not received anything. It was truly a mistake for taking the advise of a coworker to come to this facility. The doctor that I went to is no longer practicing there either

The staff was extremely helpful and kind. Dr. A. was wonderful. Only one visit. We'll see how they keep up.
