Brought my 81 year old mother into Emergency department and sat for 2.5 hours and wasn’t seen. When I asked how long they gave me estimate of a few more hours. I left and drove her to Cape Cod hospital. Best decision they should be ashamed of how they are operating.

AWFUL primary care. Literally go anywhere else if you can. When I first became a patient they told me there was a 6 month waiting period to see my doctor. This isn't out of the ordinary so I didn't get too mad. However, when I showed up six months later, it turns out the session was just to SIGN PAPERS. I waited six goddamn months to signs papers???? Then they told me if I wanted to do my physical I had to wait ANOTHER six months. Okay fine whatever, I did. Then I show up and they say "oh you're here for a physical? Not just a visit? I guess we can squeeze that in." Like what??? The communication here is atrocious. When I go in to see my doctor, for my first adult physical ever btw and also first doctor check up in three years, she rushes through everything. Moving extremely quickly, banging my knees, really quick looking at my ears and theist, listening to my lungs, asked me if there was anything else and then sent me out. I waited a year for this. And not to even mention that a week prior I had come in with an awful chest cold and had to see a nurse because I hadn't seen my doctor yet, and updated all of my medications, had to CORRECT medical history they had written down wrong, and gave other details.. only to have to do that all again at my "physical" because apparently the nurse didn't save properly on her computer at that sick visit.
Overall I absolutely don't feel important or cared for at this facility, I always feel like I'm just a number. The office staff is always very short and visibly annoyed, and if you call to ask a question you're on hold for at least 10 minutes only for the phone to be answered by a front desk person seeming even MORE annoyed and like they're in some extreme rush. I was taken to BID in Plymouth in August with a severe headache. I honestly thought I was having a stroke. I was taken in and cared for instantly. The nurses were attentive, and nice. My Dr was lively. I was there for many hours, but it didn't feel like that as I was being spoken to, or tested or educated. Eventually, it was found I had a brain tumorthey did not have a need department there so my films were sent to BID Boston. When I was cleared, an appt was made for me with the specialist the following Thursday, she too! Was educated and extremely through and nice! I was educated on my condition and am moving forward.Had my Dr at the Plymouth BID not decided to do a cat scan, then mri I would have never known. I can't say enough..and who reviews a hospital..lol I searched for this so it her would know. You are in good hands with these people.

I would have maybe given 4 stars but the people working at the reception /nurse desk should be fired. I lacerated my leg about 5 or 6 inch crescent moon looking gash. All I had was a towel so I wrapped it around tight cause I notice blood pouring out of my leg. I went to reception they took towel off and just place gauze over the cut and one of those pads they use to collect blood on just enough so you couldn't see the blood not wrapped tight at all.Then took my information and told me to wait to be seen. Now I sit in the wheel chair I put my leg up on one of the chairs in the waiting room. And I swear I feel random pumps of blood squirting into the gauze. I end up passing out now after an hour of sitting there I wake up and see that I leaked about a pint of blood onto the chair and floor of the waiting room. I tell them this and they still do nothing. So then I hear some woman talking to her husband telling him to say something about my condition to the receptionists. But I was really out of it at this point so didn't think much of it. Then he gets up and says something to them. They then do nothing about me bleeding out just put another pad over the one that I already bleed through. Then I finally got to go into a room. That's when I was properly taken care of by a nurse or dr not sure. But I had severed and artery and that's why I was bleeding so much. She wrapped me up very tight till I could be stitched up. Then Doogie "Ed" Howser nice guy put a stitch in the artery to stop it from bleeding cleaned me all out and sewed me back up 14 stitches.

Wow, terrible attitudes with the nursing staff both in the ER and on the floors. 1st experience with this hospital and the last. Always bring my mom to St. Lukes in NB but it's a minimum of 8 hour wait in ER. So thought I would try Beth Israel. The moral is atrocious! Would not recommend or ever go back. Nursing staff does minimal and attitudes were so unfriendly in the ER. On the floor when my mother was admitted, they were nice but just terrible. Had to request a breathing treatment has it her poor quality of breathing went unnoticed, Dr. ordered warm compresses for an infection and the nurse never did this the entire day. I was told she couldn't get the machine. I asked her and the night nurse to skip this machine and give my mother a bowl of warm water and cloth and my mother could do. Found out in the morning this didn't happen either. When I questioned the nurse she said it didn't matter it was only for comfort!!! When I said the dr. ordered it, a machine mysteriously appeared within 10 minutes. Just appalling. I saw a very large man in the ER fall because he didn't have adequate staff (1 small nurse). Do not go here.

Disappointed with ER, waited around after a motorcycle accident, was given tylenol and what seemed an hour registration screening, asked what was going on. To find out if I was getting an xray or to even be seen by the doctor. Back was in extreme pain!!! Approached the nurse nicely to ask simply questions about what was going on, and got a mean dirty look with a terrible rude response back. Belittling my situation and pain.
Felt belittled and like they dont care about the patients, just the paycheck!

Worst hospital I've ever been in. Very unprofessional. Er Dr is a liar. He actually said he performed a review of systems when he never examined me! This is a Dr the hospital hires to care for you! God help you all. Its all about the money. Good luck to anyone who goes there! !

I have been admitted to this facility several times and each time the care has been excellent. I have nothing but the utmost confidence in the doctors, nursing staff and everyone else right down to housekeeping. Thank you all for your part in making each one of my stays as comfortable as possible.

7.5 months pregnant. . I never see the same doctor / midwife. New person every time. No one listens to my complaints about working so much. They tell me they can't write a note to leave work early. . I bartend in providence. . I'm thinking about going somewhere else to deliver

I have lived in Plymouth for more than 30 years. I have been in the ER department on many occasions when my children were younger, and have had terrible experiences with the staff at the ER desk off and on through the years.
I went into the ER last week and had to be wheeled in by my friend who brought me there. Do you think one of THREE women standing behind that admitting desk would help? NO. After my friend wheeled me right in front of the ER admitting desk, she went to park her car.
I was in EXTREME PAIN , crying because of the pain, and these three woman did not even acknowledge me! I said to them that I am in extreme pain and need to see a doctor. My response was "you'll have to wait a few minutes"! WHAT? Besides the fact that there were only FOUR people sitting in the ER, what in the world was holding them up? They were joking with one another. TERRIBLE.
Got into the ER and the doctor was fabulous. The nurses were excellent. My condition is one that I will not post; however, I was in extreme NEED of a catheter BEFORE I was given 16 ounces of liquid for a CT!! I thought that I could have been had been experiencing sepsis!
The urologist came in the next morning and was asking me why I "jumped ship" on him, and went to another urologist, and that I had kidney stones, etc WHAT????? WRONG PATIENT DOCTOR-WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Then he patronized me! His comment was something like "you're tired, had a long night". PLEASE- I suggested that he recheck the chart! He came back in (no apology) and rattled off what HE wanted me to do. After I have a doctor communicate in this manner, I MAKE the decisions as what is best for me. HE CLEARLY showed me that he didn't.
My own PCP had to call me on my CELL PHONE as she could not get through to the front desk on the floor that I was on to provide important information! I had to ring for a nurse to come into my room and speak w/ my PCP's office on MY CELL PHONE!!!! There was a doctor's name next to my room number whom I have never met in my life! This hospital has some wonderful new physicians, nurses, and CNA's. Your ER staff needs TRAINING. And, the COMMUNICATION FACTOR is UNACCEPTABLE.
I will end on a positive note, as I am thankful for your ER physician and nurses who took my condition seriously. I am grateful for their insight to my situation.
I am sharing as I have seen that "the owner" of the hospital reads these reviews. This is about educating some of your employees, or letting them go. There are plenty of folks that have more compassion, and alertness than SOME of your staff did on June 9, 2016.response / report this review -

Staff working in the facility have been wonderful and caring but unfortunately they are working in a broken system. I am very disappointed and frustrated that our local hospital has no child psychiatrist and can hold people in a locked unit forever with no due process or treatment while they wait for a bed. It is part of a larger problem. I hope Bid steps up to be part of the solution. They have some great staff.
