Small place that's perfect for dinner on the river. Appetizers change daily. Mediterranean fare. Full bar and wine list. Cozy atmosphere.
My girlfriend and I went to Bella on the River for the first time last night, and loved it. Good wine, great food, killer atmosphere, and our server was fantastic. All around awesome experience. We will definitely be going back. If you haven't been, I highly recommend checking it out.
Spent a magical anniversary dinner they're outside along the river, underneath a 100-year-old fig tree bathed in little white lights. Absolutely enchanting food and service, and the atmosphere is the most elegant that I have found on the Riverwalk after dining there many many times.
Anniversary Dinner with my wife this week at Bella. We had eaten there once before several years ago and remembered the meal to have been amazing. No change this time. No disappointments. Great wine selection, the service was friendly and on point. Starters, meal and desert were all wonderful. Great ambiance and location for an intimate dining experience.
My husband and I went here for a rather upscale date night. It’s the perfect restaurant to go to if you’re looking to get dressed up for a romantic dinner. Inside, it was lively, with lots of chatter from the people around us, and yet it was also still intimate. Dimmed lighting, small, intimate dining tables - truly a perfect date spot. I would have to leave a whole other review to adequately describe the food. It was outstanding. My husband had one of the steaks, and I had the chicken mattone; both of us had crab on the side. We were also served bread with garlic/oil to dip it in. All of the food was phenomenal. Upon our arrival at the restaurant, the owner/manager greeted us personally. He was extremely warm and friendly. I told him the name on our reservation, and he said he’d recognized it; he had our table set and ready. On a scale of 1-5 for priciness, 1 being cheapest and 5 being most expensive, I would probably give it a 3; the pricing wasn’t bad at all and was completely worth every penny. Everything about this place was amazing. Highly, highly recommend.
We are foodies After seeing this place highly reviewed, we decided to give it a shot. It was a grand slam home run! Amazing service, amazing quality, and amazing atmosphere! You will not be disappointed. TIP: Order different plates and share so you can try more.
Wife and I had fritta.misto for first plate, a mix of calamari and veggies in a light batter served with a smooth butter sauce. Main plates were seafood tortellini and steak in a peppercorn sauce. Well prepared. Wait staff friendly and efficient. Ambience is cozy, about 20 tables in a small space with a Stone wall and rough timber ceiling, low lighting and soft jazz music background. No mixed drinks, wine and beer only.
Yes romantic, fancy, and delicious! Top it off with live Jazz keys for a unforgettable night at the river walk.
Wonderful Italian on the Riverwalk. The atmosphere is cozy and chic. We were greeted by the owner. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The food was amazing! We will be going back.
Arrived in San Antonio off the plane hungry and without a place that could cook for us. Walked in and the Chef was able to accommodate our gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free restrictions. The steak was excellent, one of the best we've ever had and the paella was wonderful.
Small venue, make a reservation. High quality food and preparations. Good wine list. I recommend the Diver Scallops. My wife had the Pasta Bella and it was very good as well.
Wonderful old San Antonio atmosphere. Compact menu is seafood-centric, w an Italian bentw classic Americana beef to balance out the options. Make reservations as the locals truly appreciate this eclectic joint. I wish they would expand the wine menu a bit more and add an espresso machine regardless, it's hard to find a cool 1700's space like this with so many nice little touches.
