The gardens attracted us to BTM. Nice, clean, friendly. Took some seeds and flowers home. If you want a morning copy of the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, or the NY Times look for another spot.

Stayed here twice now. Very nice little motel at reasonable rates. Staff is very friendly. Very colorful flower gardens all around the property.

Nice place been going here 3 years now but, too much money for what you get. I paid $140 for a night.The room comes with complementary Wi-Fi, microwave, mini fridge, and the shower pressure is good.
Some things of note are that the beds are hard and the rooms smaller, more of what you would expect from a motel. They leave the porch lights on all night which I can understand. However, the lights are right in front of your window which ruins a quiet night on the porch. The light shines through the curtains which makes it hard to sleep if you like it dark.There isn't breakfast but there is coffee. The place is clean and I can imagine during the summer months there is a lot more to offer. During the fall the landscaping is dying, pools closed, nobody's grilling and the price didn't come down. They do have a soda machine charges $1 for a can of Pepsi. Owner is nice location is good.
At $140+ a night for 2 people I'd expect breakfast or a fancy room with a view/jacuzzi. If you're on a budget and it's not summer I'd suggest somewhere else. If you want to pay a hotel price for a motel but ease of mind knowing it's clean then this works.response / report this review -

Owners and staff were great and extremely helpful. The room was very clean and cozy. Gardens are gorgeous, lots of outside seating areas, picnic tables, gas grills, clean jacuzzi and outdoor pool. It's also walking distance to the beach and boardwalk. My boyfriend and I had a great weekend. We will definitely go again if we need to stay in the area again. Thank you Bay Top Motel.

If I could rate zero or negative stars I would. The owner constantly harassed my guests and me, following us out into the parking lot and threatening to call the police because we had 4 people instead of 3 (in a room with 2 queen beds). After explaining to him that only 3 were staying and the fourth was leaving, he continued to linger around the parking lot and creep around windows, intercepting us every time we stopped in for a shower or to grab a sweatshirt. I honestly can't imagine how this hotel is still in business, it was the least welcoming, least comforting place to spend our last night of vacation on the lake. I will never be coming back and I will do everything I can to assure none of my friends or family do either.

Quaint little motel overlooking the bay. Friendly and welcoming owner. Rooms are well kept and super clean. Has BBQs available to guests as well as a jacuzzi. Great value for the price!

Great prices. Rooms are very nice and spacious providing you with very nice luxuries such as air conditioning and reliable room service. Outdoor pool goes 6ft deep and is always kept clean. Hot tub is also provided on the other side of the parking lot. Ice machine and vending machine(drinks only) are also on site. Grill with utensils and ping pong table are also available in the parking lot where you will get a great view of the lake. All in all I give it 5 stars with very nice staff
