Ordered a cappuccino, French soup, lamb shank and tiramisu. It was all very good and the owner and staff are polite and friendly. Great restaurant.

This place is fantastic! Definitely worthy of 5 star rating. Not because it's fancy or presumptuous, but because it is not. The food could best be described as true french home cooking nothing is done just for the sake of doing it. It's a real meal with the balance of flavor that only french taste profiles can provide.
The prices are very reasonable for the quality and freshness, the deserts are so good, and they even stock a couple of lower price french wines for you to enjoy. Wish I'd come here soonerresponse / report this review -

Our dinner was amazing and we both enjoyed it so much. We made reservations for Valentines Day and they were well worth it. Our main entree took a little while longer than expected but we were pleasantly surprised. This is one of my new favorites

Best fish and seafood place in Fort Walton Beach. The wife and I have been visiting the Bay Cafe for many years for all of our special occasions, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. The owner and chef is from France and the meals have all the flavors of France. Though a little pricey, the food is excellent. Highly recommend.

Went for a special birthday dinner. Food and atmosphere were great. Service was adequate but not very friendly. More like a real french waiter! Was in sticker shock to find when the bill came the special of the day was so much higher priced than any menu item! And the unpublished prices for appetizers was equal to most entrees!

They certainly judge the patrons. They will wait on those they believe have money first. They hustle them and could care less about others.

Great wide selection of seafood, definitely worth the experience! Sit by the water outside and enjoy the breeze. Very professional, knowledgeable waiters as well.

Excellent food and service, very French menu, reasonable prices, great location on the water with excellent vue of the bay and the boat traffic under the bridge. Outside (on the dock) or inside dining. My favorite lunch item: crab meat salad on a croissant. They do not always have it, call ahead if that's what you want.

We stumbled in here by accident-wanted to eat near the water. The views are great! We were a 3 generation family with children 4-9.
Definitely not geared toward children. No kids menu. How does putting a hamburger on a croissant make this a french restaurant? The amberjack and sirloin were great.

The escargot was superb, and a fit prelude to the cherry sauced duck. The muscles were not up to this very high standard. The Malbec was as expected and a fitting complement to. A mostly excellent meal .

I moved this from my 'want to go' to 'my favorites'! What a quaint but absolutely beautiful setting!! The waiter was so kind in recommendations and the choices proved his experience in french cuisine! You MUST stop in while in the area! Delicious!
