This is the most amazing eclectic book store I've ever been to. It not only is a book store but also has a coffee shop and wine bar. Lots of places to sit and work/read/drink. There is a great seating area upstairs where you can overlook the first floor. They also have a selection of rare books for sale. Only problem with this store is that the isles are narrow so it can be cumbersome to get through on a busy day. Make sure you have plenty of time to browse!

I love this place. If you're a bibliophile and coffee shop lover, this is the place for you. I discovered this place 4 years ago when i visited and i lived in the Carolinas. Im in town for a wedding and this is one of the places in my to do list. I'm glad i stopped by again. I will visit again. Thanks Battery Park Book Exchange!

Love this book shop! One of our favorite places while visiting from Florida on Christmas break. Super friendly staff and fun atmosphere! . Loved that they were so pet friendly. Visited it a couple of times while there and have recommended a must see to friends who are traveling there.

This place is the real deal. Want to get wasted? Want to buy and read books? Why not both?

They had some really tasty champagne cocktails, and I was impressed by the size of their book selection as well. Premium af, 10/10. Would drink and read again.

Went in and ordered an apple cider this afternoon. The sign on the counter advertises fall drinks and this is one of them it read Hot Apple Cider 3.00$ I order my drink get it to go. The lady says that will be 4.28??? I question the extra amount she says oh to go drinks cost more for the cup plus you get more in the cup than if you stay here. I question where it says this. She said well that's what it costs. Then proceeds to say it's in the coffee menu book. I told her it was advertised as 3 dollars and there is no sign saying the cost of a to go drink is 1 dollar more. She continues to argue. I told her I wasn't paying more than what was on the sign. Finally she gave in but wasn't happy. If you are going to have separate prices this should be clear and visible. Also if you get more in a to go cup why not have 2 different sizesi will not return.

It's an impossibly picturesque antiquarian book shop with thousands of books, Victorian library chairs and oriental carpets. They not only serve coffee, but there's a champagne bar as well. If that's not enough, they're dog-friendly.

I love this place! I have been frequenting it often since I discovered it. It has a lovely atmosphere and extremely courteous staff. An excellent selection of wine, a wonderful coffee bar, very well priced books, and everyone that I've met here has been a joy to speak with. Great place to study, work, relax, socialize, or all of the above.

A must see if you are a tourist, and a great go for locals. Tons of book choices. Dog-friendly! Cocktails, champagne, coffee. Funky corner seats and couches to relax.

The coolest bookstore I've been to, it's like a big maze but full of books. Many places to sit and hang out too. My only compliant is the lack of fantasy and sci fi books.

Unique but such a great idea! Cozy, inviting setting surrounded by books; throw wine in on top of it and you have got me hooked! This place has it all and is even pet friendly which seems to fit right in with Asheville's charms. There were several groups having meetings in various locations throughout the store. I tried some local NC wines along with some cheese and a pastry. It was all great & in such a beautiful, historic building!
