Came highly recommended by a couple of friends and it did not disappoint. Tupelo Honey was such a great place for dinner. We sat at the bar and had a friendly bartender serve us. The food was incredible - from the homemade biscuits to the shrimp and goat cheese grits and finally the stuffed mountain trout. Everything was so delicious and homemade. Ultimate comfort food! The duck rabbit stout was great too. Definitely check this place out if you’re in Asheville.

From the start my girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience here. I fully recommend the brunch although the dinner menu looked amazing as well. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. Our server was very knowledgeable about the different menu items, where ingredients came from, and which dishes were the best to try. If you are vegetarian you do have options here. If you are not then there are far too many good dishes to try in one sitting. I think I had my favorite bloody Mary in Ashville here; the jalapeno-chili infused moonshine is excellent. By far however they have some of the best shrimp and grits I have ever had - almost as good as NOLA. Definitely a top ten food destination if you are visiting.

Well worth the wait! (Waited 45min on a Sunday morning) We sat in the covered outside seating area. Was kept warm. Staff was friendly and helpful. They take your name and phone number and text you when they are getting your table ready. This allowed us to walk around town a little before we got in which was nice! Prices are a little high but when you get your food you understandthey have big portions! The food is delicious! I had the banana pudding pancakes, would highly recommend! Also before you get your food they bring you a biscuit with blueberry jam and honey. Was so good!

It was worth the wait. Which was one hour on a Sunday afternoon. Passing through from California, modern southern food was very appealing, and this place did not disappoint. We decided on a sampler of Bacon praline (thick, extra long, lean cuts bacon covered in brown sugar and toasted pecans — wow!), fried okra, hot biscuits with Blueberry jam, fried green tomatoes over cheesy grits (great!!), eggs Betty, and southern fried chicken. The basil peach lemonade was also wonderful. The food was fresh, hot, crispy — and visually appealing. Would definitely return.

OK folks. I am a regular dude, but I have eaten a bunch of ribs in my life. Lately (last 10 years) they have been horrible everywhere. The ribs here are the best I have had in my entire life. I $√|+ you not. Amazing. I asked "who does these" and the answer was "the prep guys". Well, our KA server Christine was told by me to send them a message. "You guys are freaking perfect"

Absolutely phenomenal. Had the chicken with biscuits and gravy and my friend enjoyed the steak and eggs. Both of us left satisfied.

Be sure to go early as there is almost always a wait.

Today was a very rough day. I left the bedside of a loved one in the hospital. I was in need of comfort. I just wanted my grandmother's fried chicken. She has long been in heaven, but the fried chicken I had at Tupelo Honey was very much like hers. It was delicious as well as the greens, homemade biscuits & blueberry jam. What a treat! Nothing like a good meal to lift your spirits. So glad we have this restaurant in town. The atmosphere was warm & cozy. The staff pleasant & accommodating. Seems to be a well run establishment. Would recommend to friends & family.

Great local-inspired cuisine at a welcoming down-home atmosphere. Elegant and friendly in perfect harmony. Great bar choices with drinks and complimentary biscuits this may be a (for lack of a better word) 'chain', but this is the original, and there is nothing else exactly like it. Touristy? Sure, but not necessarily in a bad way, it's a great place for people of many different life experiences to come together, and at the same time get to experience the South and the gastronomical wonders it has to offer.

Best food in Asheville. I always stuff myself here. I would go here just to get the biscuits as appetizers. Favorites are shrimp and grits and the burgers. Plan ahead since the wait can be very long. You can put your name in, then go visit a neighboring pub and they'll text you when your table is ready. It is not uncommon for the wait to be over an hour. The food has always been worth the wait for me. Note that it's close quarters and noisy. That's part of the charm.

Great gluten free options here and in if the most amazing omlettes I have ever eaten. You can call ahead to help skip the line if it's busy and if you have to wait and have kids there is a toy store right around the corner. I will definitely be coming back.

Shrimp & GritsYUM. need I say more? I really enjoyed sitting in the covered outdoor section of this cafe as I watched people stroll by. The staff was friendly and the food was super tasty. Biscuits were good too a little crispy but once you smother them in the honey and blueberries they're just right! Thumbs up 👍🏻

We are here a year ago. Meal was superb. Last nights meal was a let down. Shrimp and grits showcased over cooked and hard grits. It seemed the plate had sat under the heat lamp too long. Mountain trout was dry and over cooked. A big disappointment. Ambiance great. Service was pleasant and available. Hopefully things improve

Very good quality food with good sized portions. Complimentary biscuits with blueberry jam offered and very tasty. Not a baby friendly place; we were asked to leave our stroller outside of the restaurant per their "policy".
