Went with my boyfriend. around 3 pm so we had the lunch menu to choose from. Appetizers good. mussels for himand loaded chips. We both had the Haddock and fries. I could smell the fishy smell when the waitress was about 10 feet away. My boyfriend agreed. We both tasted the fish and it was very fishy tasting. Haddock should be mild, not with a strong fish taste. The 'tartar sauce' that they serve is made with a large amt of brown grainy mustard and tasted awful. The waitress asked if I wanted anything else, so I chose the Cobb Salad with blue cheese on the side. The salad arrived with a large amount of chopped romaine lettuce, the requisite cherry/grape tomatoes, red onion, and I believe sliced zucchini. Also had 1 (one) halved hard-boiled egg, a small amt of bacon and possibly one small slice of a 'smoked turkey' product. Ranch dressing, not good very sweet. No blue cheese, anywhere. 🤔 This salad was $10.95. For this price I expected more besides what was on it. Very high priced, not great food. The best, yes best thing is the cheese spread they serve, which I purchased to take home. Waitress said it would be $6.00, nope came up $8.00. Never going back. Other review's state great food, but with a concrete floor and barely enough lighting to see the menu, let others go there. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Very high priced and a somewhat limited menu.
This is my go-to place to get great food and when entertaining guests from out of town! Yes, its a little more pricey compared to a lot of places in the area ($20 average for one dinner) but you get what you pay for. I've NEVER had a bad meal in all the many times I've eaten here. The 5 Hour Pot Roast is AMAZING, and that's coming from someone who would normally never order a "home cooked meal" type of item at a restaurant, but my daughter got it once and I tasted it, now it's my favorite item! The waitstaff is usually really good. They have a decent sized patio that increases their seating to probably twice the size during the warmer months. (It's surrounded by woods though, so bring mosquito repellent!) I highly, highly recommend Bartlett's !
Not great, but not bad either. Atmosphere is decent. It's a small place, so it fills up quick. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I tried it once, so maybe my review will change on my 2nd trip. I tried the fish & chips, and for over $15 I was disappointed. 2 pieces of breaded fish with plain French fries. The fish wasn't bad, but I'm pretty sure the fries came frozen in a bag. They sure didn't taste fresh or crispy, and it was about 60% of the entire meal. So if you order the fish & chips. Expect a lot of tasteless French fries.
Service was good though. So no negatives there.
This is a small place off the beaten path that serves delicious food. A little pricey but worth it. Great microbrew selection. It has a real cool outdoor seating area. I had raw oysters that were very fresh and enormous. Like I said it was a little pricey to me but I did not feel bad paying it for the quality and quantity of food and the service was great. It had a great mixed crowd of people(older, young, hip, and traditional and blue collar).
After a long day of cutting wood and wrapping it and stacking it in the bin, to be for sale to anyone who stops in from campers to people that just have a fireplace, it's a great place for my friend and I to sit and talk about business. The place is a Class Act. You don't have slobbering drunks at the bar trying to invade your space while talking to someone else, I have noticed this greatly compared to other bars in the region. And not to mention the great food that flows throughout the place, it always gets my appetite when I'm sitting there having a few drinks at the bar. I have had a few appetizers that I must say they were quite delightful. So to wrap it all up oh yes it's a great place to go after work or whether you just take off work,, so go there and have a damn good time and hey don't forget to leave the bartender who Waits on you hand and foot a good tip. Take care,
Good food eclectic menu. Great food diversity and drinks, great serving staff.
Our party of four had dinner on a recent Saturday. We each ordered a different meal and all were delicious. We had meatloaf, pot roast, white fish, and chicken schnitzel. The margarita was tasty as was their bloody mary, with a good selection of beers.. Our server was great as well. A small place so felt a bit tight and dark. The food is always a treat.
I will definitely be coming back! The service is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is cozy and rustic, and the food is absolutely incredible. I ordered the bourbon glazed meatloaf and it was delicious. I've never had better meatloaf. If you are visiting the Indiana Dunes or just in the area, definitely give this place a try.
So glad our GPS brought us to this one of a kind grill and tavern. From the outside you'd never know the hidden gem waiting inside. Staff were great, the menu was outstanding, so hard to pick just one entree. Great cocktails, huge beer offering. I had the blueberry martini, delicious! Then ordered the club sandwich on sourdough bread with Frites. My husband had the Reuben sandwich and all was delicious. Can't wait for another trip that directions so I can stop again.
Very comfortable bar and restaurant areas. Modern yet rustic decor. Good service. Often very crowded though. Good beer selection.
Passed it for years and hadn't stopped until recently. Wow this place is amazing. The food is absolutely incredible can't say enough about it. Try the chili is the best I've had honestly. So stop looking and go there tonight.
Generally this is a decent place. Nice atmosphere, the staff is great!
The food is hit or miss. Sometimes you get a great meal, other times it's not cooked all the way or the portions are small. Typically offer a decent selection of craft beers.
Gravel parking lot can be rough.
The restaurant is small, but they do have a patio open in the summer, also small. The patio is pretty, again great atmosphere as long as there are no mosquitoes.
Let's be honest, there really isn't another restaurant in the area (unless you want to drive to Chesterton or Michigan city), so if you're looking for a decent meal and you happen to be in Beverly Shores, this is probably as good as it gets.
This place is fantastic. Wonderful food and drink. Great service. Warm atmosphere. Worth the wait.
My husband and I stop here after we get off the train on our way back to Michigan. Always great, fresh and interesting food. Service at the bar has always been exceptional! A bit of new gravel in the parking lot would be nice.
