HAVE A RESERVATION - EVEN FOR LUNCH. I acknowledge we showed up at 12:30 on a Saturday, before Christmas with no reservation. Still, the hostess said it would be 15 minutes, so we waitedand waited. When I politely inquired after 45 minutes, I was told it would be another half hour. The two-top next to where we we're sitting was empty the whole time and there were several empty tables. I realize they need to accommodate their reservations, but they should have been more forthcoming about the wait or be more organized about the seating. Fortunately, there's a nice Mediterranean place right next door.

We enjoyed our breakfast. Biscuits and gravy were large and very filling. The outside of the biscuits were very crunchy and the inside was very soft and fluffy. Great combination. Very impressed with the butter and jam as well. Kinda shocking, but the jam was very tasteful. Egg white omelette was good but a little undersized. All in all a great breakfast. Would recommend.

I am giving the Atwood three stars strictly because of the service. The bar is beautiful! In fact the whole Alise hotel is gorgeous and at Atwood is no exception. The drinks were priced appropriately for the location. I came in on a Wednesday evening with a friend and sat at the bar. The bartender acted as if we were a burden, ignoring us for the most part, never refilling our water, and walking away while I was asking him about their cocktails. The rest of the staff was friendly.

Food was just okay. Way overpriced for being in a hotel lobby. Cacio y Pepe was cold. Meal portions small. It was a birthday dinner, good free dessert. The baked Alaskan was good.

I had a reservation (after a showing of Hamilton) with my in-laws for a total of nine people. I mentioned when I reserved that I had celiac disease, nevertheless, when we arrived our server was not certain what items on the menu were gluten free. I got the strange Bird cocktail. It was nothing spectacular. I ordered the endive salad and strip loin for my meal. The salad was fine (although under dressed). My strip loin was supposed to be medium rare, but showed up much closer to medium well/well done. It was nearly inedible and the rest of the dish was nothing special, lightly dressed white beans with plan arugula sprinkled on top.

After dinner the server offered dessert menus, but again had no idea which desserts could be made gluten free. He again had to check with the kitchen. I ordered the panna cotta, which was actually absolute heaven. It is the only reason I've given this restaurant 2 stars. Maybe just go here for dessert?

During our trip this was the second most expensive place we dined (after Roister and only because we got wine there). It definitely was not worth the overall expense.

I'm surprised by the low rating. This place is exquisite!
This place reminds me so much of the Atwood at the top of the hotel. The drinks are wonderful as is the food. A lovely experience that took me out of IL. for a brief moment.

We arrived excited for breakfast. We were greeted by a hostess that barely would make eye contact and certainly would not smile. When we asked for a table we were instead greeted with an eye roll. Our waiter then came to the table and took our order for breakfast. Again not a smile or sense of welcome to b found. One in our party was explicit about a gluten allergy and went through the menu with the waiter. When breakfast was finally brought to the table the potatoes where found to not be gluten free after a bite of them had already been consumed. He was very flippant about the mistake and joked that "I hope ur not celiac". Lucky for the restaurant that wasn't the case. I was shocked to see the check come without the meal served to the allergic party removed and comped or even discounted. I asked to speak to the manager who was apparently too busy with the 6 patrons total in the restaurant to come over. The waiter did remove the meal after my request and pointing out why it should be. The manager should consider taking the time e to come and interact with his customers. He may find that he has created an unfriendly and uninviting environment with a smile free culture. I wouldn't return even though my meal was good.

The only reason to go to Atwood is the interior/decor. It's beautiful! That being said, I sat at the bar which I love do. The bartender was efficient but unfriendly (I prefer a combo). Once the food arrived, I realized why he might be standoffish; he has to ask every gust "how is everything". The food is ok at best. The meatballs were dry, the kale salad boring and the Brussels sprouts should've been much better (pork was involved). Go in and have drink with a friend, you'll need to being your own conversation, then go to dinner somewhere better.

Everything ordered was delicious. Menu could be more descriptive regarding sides (for example, at breakfast) and how the food is presented though. Friendly staff. Great place to people watch and enjoy a cocktail.

The food was excellent. The service was very good (though the waiter needs to practice pouring wine from a bottle without dripping). The manager was an ass, and wound up costing his service staff some tips from some people in my party because of the attitude he gave us when we asked for three items to be split off the main bill. The kind of person who argues with customers for ten minutes to save about a minute of work should probably find a new line of work.
