I brought my brother to Anna Jaques hospital to have him admitted for psychatric evaluation as I am his heath care proxy. I explained his condition as well as what I believe to be the issue. He was admitted and spent one week in their care. At no time did they call me to discuss his condition or what they concluded. While I was the one who waited 8 hrs to have him admitted, they called my sister to let her know he would be discharged the next day. Really? No communication and then arbitrarily decided that he will be discharged with absolutely no change in his condition from what my sister could discern (i was in Atlanta visiting my son). If this is the level of care this hospital provides, go elsewhere. Just horrendousand they call themselves professionals? College educatedI don't think sono moral or ethical behavior in my estimation.

    WORST ER EVER!!!!!

Came in at the advice of our baby’s pediatrician because he has been screaming in pain all day, and were “Fast Tracked”! Only one person ahead of us and 30 minutes for a nurse. Meanwhile baby is SCREAMING bloody murder and nobody even comes to check! Still waiting for a doctor! Absolutely horrible! They clearly don’t care about people here!

Over an hour for a Physician’s Assistant they gave him more Motrin, had us wait, and said call his doctor in the morning.

Do yourself a favor and drive to Beverly or Portsmouth!

If I could have given -5 Stars I would!!!

I don't even want to give this 1 star! What happened to this hospital it used to be a good caring place. Now every experience has been awful. My husband was to be admitted on Friday and was told by his physician to go to ER and he would let them know that he would be coming and which tests that he was ordering. ER personnel just left us hanging for a long time. Everytime I asked for something I was told they would be right there.never came! Finally my husband was seen by a practioner not a Doctor. After all testing was done this practioner made the decision that he had to be transferred to BIDMC in Boston. So wait again for all arrangements to be made. Around 8.30 pm an ambulance came to take him to Boston. Once there they said he had no reason to be there and would not admit him. His Physician was at AJH looking for him and had never been informed about the transfer!! I called to AJH ER, it is now Saturday and no competent personnel was on duty, I explained how my husband is sitting in the ER at BIDM and was told he shouldn't be there and AJH needs to go get him. And was very rudely told no we don't! Then he transferred me to the operator! I called back and was hung up on. The last phone call I made they transferred me to medical records! I was not getting anywhere with this bunch! I had to go down to Boston and pick him up on Saturday when the rallies were going on! I think it's time to change hospitals!

most horrific experience in my life. No blood work in the ER. I was treated by Doogie Howser MD (yeah maybe 30 and completely incompetent) I am a transplant survivor and they had me out in under 2 hours. I also gave them my insurance info 3X and they still have no processed it properly. I call the operator to explain the situation and she just transfers me in the MIDDLE OF TALKING. I HATE THIS HOSPITAL. EVERYONE IS AN IDIOT. GO ELSEWHERE.

Great experience in a unexpected situation.
I went for an appointment with one of their surgeons for what I thought would be a quick outpatient visit. I was in extreme pain, upon examination the Dr indicated he would like for me to have surgery as soon as possible on the same day. He called ahead and one of his staff nurses helped me to get to the ER.
The triage staff at the ER already had my info and shortly after I was admitted while they tried to fit my surgery with the appropriate surgeon. I was expecting several hours' waiting time. They were able to accommodate me and I was in and of surgery and resting in post op in what seemed like an instant (the wonders of anaesthesia). Everyone was very professional, caring, and friendly. All in all, I was in recovery within 4:30 hours of arriving at my doctor's office.
Highly recommend this facility. This is th second procedure I have had at Anna Jaques.

I was forced to give one star as you are unable to post with a no star rating. The pain clinic is substandard, rude and devious in policy and practice..I waited 6 weeks for an appointment my PCP set up for me on a Monday afternoon in mid April. I was called once by their office on the Friday before my appointment (although they lied and said they called me "several times, then said numerous times) with them leaving a voicemail that I needed to confirm my appt by noon time the Friday prior. I listened to their voicemail at 12:45pm and called back to confirm that, yes I would be keeping my appt. They had already cancelled my appt because it was already after noon time (my return call to confirm was one hour too late) per their regimental policy.
(Which, by the way, is not commincated anywhere in writing or verbally). Kimberly was rude and condescending and without empathy. They wanted to offer me an alternative appointment in May, their "next available opening". I refused. l"ll never go to this practice and will consistently spread the word about my despicable experience. If you ever have the misfortune to need to need to see a pain MD, go somewhere else. No one should have to put up with such nonsense.

I went to the emergency room at Anna Jaques Hospital in need of stitches. The doctor did a fantastic job. However, they were very sneaky with the billing. The emergency room told me that my health insurance covered the visit to the ER at a nominal cost. What they didn't tell me was that the doctor bill was separate and not covered by insurance. I received a surprise bill from the doctor for $1000. The ER got paid an additional $1800 by the insurance company. Very devious and borderline unethical in my opinion.

I brought my 3 month old for excessive crying and unable to console her. Dr. Ferucci was absolutely amazing and even though he had referred me to a hospital better equipped to deal with an infant he still was very caring and even asked me to call him to see what the other hospital had to say to better help kids in the future. I had called him today to update him on my child's case and he talked to me on the phone and was very concerned and willing to listen. I'm so happy we chose Anna Jacques, and happy to have a hospital where doctors actually care for their patients!

The staff was very caring, from the triage nurse, to the ER nurse and staff, to the folks who cared for me after I was admitted, thank you! Yes, admitting and getting to my room from ER took FOREVER (about 4.5 hours) but I had realistic expectations going in and was not surprised at the long delay. After all, there were folks much sicker than I there that evening. And isn't that what you would want? To have the more serious cases dealt with first? And when I mentioned I had missed dinner the ER came up with some PB & J sandwiches to fill me up.

Once settled into my room my nursing staff, and the others who were part of my care team, could not have been sweeter. Medications were explained to me, procedures and such were explained and re-explained if I was too dense to follow along. I was never admonished for questioning anything and asking for clarifications.

Thanks Anna Jaques for taking good care of me!
