Beautiful art deco hotel. Service was excellent. Free shuttle very convenient. Rooms are recently remodeled. Not a great area but the hotel property itself seems very safe. Will stay again.
Loved the hotel once inside. Loved the upgrade to the hot tub in the room. Manager Connie was super nice and super helpful with our accommodations. The bar downstairs was very nice and had great happy hour specials for food and drinks. We didn't go to the restaurant but I thought it was nice to have a 50% discount if we did. The only downsides were there were no good views from any rooms and kind of far from anything downtown. Apartment buildings on both sides blocking any view at all. Free shuttle bus to most places was a nice plus, too. Lots of history here. Old building, nicely updated but just enough.
Great hotel with a boutique charm! Staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are each unique to fit the old building. Food in the restaurant or bar is excellent. Great happy hour specials! The guacamole and chips is must try!
Went to the bar twice in one evening! Once for happy hour where we enjoyed 3 rounds of cheese curds and 2 rounds of wings! Yummy! Along with great drink specials! Our shuttle driver for the evening “Ronnie” (I think) was so sweet and drove us to a great dinner and club spot! Then came back to the bar where bartender Izzie took great care of us and helped us wrap up a great evening! Will definitely be staying here again! Booked the king deluxe suite and everything was nice and clean!
We were in Milwaukee for a concert at the Rave and were referred to the Ambassador for dinner. Kind of had a little sticker shock initially when the hostess presented us with a menu for the Valentine's Day festivities but we went to the bar and ate instead.
Loved the steak sandwich, the sun dried tomato relish was very good but my favorite had to be the adult cupcakes. The Sangria one was amazing and the stout was nearly as good! Great service, very responsive and the art deco hotel itself made the decision to dine there very easy.
I'll be back!
This a perfect place to stay if you're seeing a show at The Rave. It's across the street and a block down; an easy walking distance. The interior is beautiful art deco and the rooms were nice sized.
Didn't stay in the hotel so this is only a review of the bar. Went in for drinks pre-show at The Race. Eric was attentive but not overly so. Good draft selection, interesting cocktail list. My friend ordered the BLT, which was amazing. Plenty of bacon, house made mayo and I think that was a hint of lemon and tarragon. My other friend had the buffalo chicken sandwich and ate it all before I could try it! He said he was really impressive. Will be back next time I'm in Milwaukee again. I here the rooms are nice!
We absolutely loved the Ambassador! Perfectly located if you're going to a concert at the Eagles Ballroom. It was recently updated, but it's an older building with a lot of character. The staff was super friendly. And the hotel was very clean.
Great location. Very nice large clean room. Tiny bathroom. Front desk service was very friendly, quick and efficient. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was pleasant and inexpensive. You get 25% off the breakfast when showing your room key. All in all, most definitely a place I would stay again.
Simply, one of the most unique and nicest hotels in Milwaukee. Lovely and a wonderful value. Awesome location. Great service. I will stay their whenever possible. Highly recommend it.
We enjoyed our stay - the room was a nice size and very clean. The bathroom was small - obviously designed when the average man was 4' 10" and 105lbs, but whadda ya gonna do I'm a - - - robust man, and I was able to make it work.
Great place to stay if you are going to show at The Rave / Eagles Club. Enjoy 1 or 18 adult beverages in your room and then stroll over to the club for a nice night out. .also very close to Miller Park.
Although the area doesn't seem all that nice - don't go for a midnight stroll other than walking back from the club across the street - but it is still a nice place to stay. Parking felt safe and secure.
Spent almost a week here. Didn't spend too much time in the hotel. However, I ate breakfast every morning. My fellow guests and I had extreme concerns. The hotel did not plan well enough in advance to handle the guests for our conference. We waited over one hour for our food, which it was incorrect for a number of people. There was at least one person that didn't receive her order. They wished up and planned for a buffet the remaining days. However, some of the food was cooked in a rush in attempts to please us from day before. Unfortunately, everyone noticed it.
This is a beautiful hotel; however, when we arrived, we were given keys to a room that was already occupied. Turns out The Ambassador overbooked that night. We spent hours with a staff member figuring out getting a room. The situation was finally handled and we were complimented with a certificate for a free nights stay within a year. I have now tried to use this certificate on 5 occasions (during the week, on weekends - trying to avoid busy days), each time The Ambassador was willing to give me a room until I mentioned the certificate I was given for the whole fiasco. Thank you very much for the run-around, frustration, and impression you have given my friends, family, and myself. I rated 1 star because you are unable to rate 0.
The building is very authentic and elegant. It's a great place for lunch and dinner. I haven't stayed in the rooms. The food is exellent and was above my expectations. Our server was not horrible bit not great. It's a beautiful place to visit.
My experience with this establishment was phenomenal. Although under construction it maintained clutterfree cleanliness. O how i really like that. Such an elegant look. From the moment I checked in with such welcoming warm staff to the moment of meeting and greeting Mr. Wonderful Ryan just one of management as I completed my stay today just excellent. Keep up the great work. I appreciated all your services to me.
