I would prefer to have the craft section, fishing section, and the old bakery back. It's really sad how barren the shelves are in those sections, as they used to be the main reason I went to Allen's and also what made it my favorite grocery store. But the selection on food and beer is decent and the sales prices make me feel better about spending a little too much on junk food.
A super great place to go. It is old but that gives it an awesome 80s feel. The music is great and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend Allens
It's run down inside and feels old. The selection is okay but there are lots of empty shelves. The pharmacy section was well stocked. Would not recommend.
Good sales. I shop here and Walmart, and generally prefer to buy most produce and occasionally shop grocery sales here. Selection on general products here is very limited. Could use a refresh on the outside to let people know the inside is better than it used to be. Do enjoy the friendly cashiers.
Good local market. Seems to be struggling with all the competition in the area. Their deli and bakery is shrinking. The meat department is good and they have a pharmacy. The store is very open and well lit. The staff are friendly and helpful. Great store for staple shopping.
Only worth going to if you need something quick and don't mind paying more for it for convenience. Now that we have a Smith's, that is unluckily.
Purchased sale items. The sale price was not recognized at the checkout. Clerk asked if I wanted sales slip. If I hadn't taken it I probably wouldn't have caught the errors though the price seemed high to me. Took over 15 minutes at office to correct the error and refund money. I was the only customer at the office so wasn't waiting for others. This took place on a Thursday. Late in the week for sale items to not be in the system. The refund was over $13.00. Not a small error. Also store is dingy. Makes me wonder about cleanliness. Items placed in odd sections. The sliced cheese was not with the rest of the cheeses. Tomatoes not with other veggies. Doubt I'll be back
Not fancy but big. Good prices.
When they first opened it was wonderful. They went from a small store to a bigger one where they had more room to provide a variety of different products. Now as time has gone by they started fixing up their bakery and it never got finished to my knowledge. I went in the other day and was shocked to see hardly any merchandise in the seasonal /summer aisle. Even the pet food aisles had little product on it.
Not the Allen ' s I remember going in to shop years ago. Could they also be closing their doors?
I like support the mom and pop stores, really makes me wonder why this store isn't doing better.
