They are a great company. The owner and his wife care about the community and try their best to be fair, honest and ethical. They would be my first choice when getting gravel for a project. They also have one of the top estimators in the state. I would highly recommend them to my friends and family.
If there was a rating of negative stars, this would be a candidate. This company is responsible for breaking my windshield, and my car was assaulted by rocks while I was on the freeway, and I wasn't even directly behind the truck. I immediately contacted the company, gave all the details, even followed the truck to where it was dropping off its load. Blake at Evans followed up and found that the truck, which was equipped with a GPS, was where I said it was, at the time I said it was, and then proceeded to tell me that their drivers always made sure there are no rocks that can come off the trucks and that the insurance company wouldn't cover the damage unless I had video of the rocks coming off of the truck. I wonder what the Utah Highway Patrol's attitude would be if I was trying to get video while driving, or even what other drivers would think. Since they GPS their trucks, I guess its a requirement that we all install video cameras in our cars, just in case. based on other reviews here, looks like this company is not really about any kind of customer service at all. If I ever have need for whatever kind of services they offer, I will not ever be giving them a call, and I am going to be very vocal to anyone I know if I even hear rumors they might do business with these guys.
employee there act like if that the only place you can get the gravel and the load drive is not to smart he don't know how much a 1 ton trailer holds or he was playing stupid.
Awesome company all around, prices are spot on and if you ask what kind of deal you can get they will work with you. Jamie (owner) is the most kind hearted guy who knows his stuff, other employees are nice, formans know what they are doing, professional, and work hard to finish the project on time. (I worked with Chad) Highly reccomend them
I've worked with this company for a number of years, relative to multiple services provided by this company [Evans Out-door advertising], among other dealings I've had with them over the years There have been a couple quirks that you might expect when working with various employees in various departments But I will say: "Without a doubt, no question about it, [Jamie - the owner], he is one of the nicest, most helpful, professional and amazing persons that I have ever dealt with in the realm of my dealings with this company, [his wife- the other boss down there in that shop, she ain't bad either]. GOOD PEOPLE!!!! From Owner of American HVAC
The actual pit off State Street is very frustrating, unless you're a regular I imagine. No scale attendant. You walk into a shack and follow a written procedure to weigh your truck and store the tare weight. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. It is supposed to be stored once you've entered it into the system. On one occasion, I pulled onto the scale loaded without having first gotten my tare weight, because it was already stored, and then went to weigh out to pay for my load. The tare weight had been lost. I found a worker and asked why my tare weight was gone and he told me they delete them every month or so. I then asked, "so for future reference, if I haven't been here for a month should I then reenter my tare weight?" He said something like maybe, they don't always delete them. His response seemed to reflect completely disorganized chaos behind the scenes. I asked him why they had no scale attendant. He said business didn't warrant one. I told him if they treated that place like a business, they might actually start getting more business. If you plan on hauling from here a lot, the experience of no one seeming to know what's going on, and the scale acting up, will probably get less and less annoying, once you've figured it all out. If you plan on coming on occasion only, and having to deal with the frustration of the pit all over again each trip, then you will probably not like this pit.
jan was very helpful, and nice over the phone. we hope to use them for material in the future.
