  BEWARE!!! The Rental cruiser bikes are horrible. Rented 3 bikes for 24 hrs. Chain falls off daughters within 2 blocks. Wife had to stop at every block to fix guard that was rubbing. My back tire fell off twice within 1 hour. Brought bikes back within 3 hours.
  They still made us pay for the 24 hrs instead of the 3 hour rate. Shop around!! There are better bike rentals in Charleston for sure.

  All the mechanics at this place are awesome. Even when I bring in a beater mountain bike, they treat me like a pro. Unlike nearly every bike shop ever, these guys don't talk down to you, don't overcharge, and usually can fix you up while you wait. Today they even set me up with a simple fix for free. Consider me a customer for life.

  I would caution anyone against renting a bike from Affordabike, and if their customer service, quality and attitude about rentals could relate to bikes they sell, then I'd caution against buying here as well.
  
  I'm an experienced (though hardly professional) road rider, who rides about 60 miles a week and have done so for at least the last 15 years. I've purchased several bikes and I've rented road bikes from at least 6 different shops in the last 5 years. Only one didn't come close to meeting expectations: Affordabike.
  
  You don't have to read the rest, but if you want to, here's what happened in a nutshell:
  
  I rented two bikes. The first brought out was in obvious bad condition. The second looked better but actually was way out of adjustment and shifted very poorly. Then a tire went flat. The spare was flat. The shop refused to support us after the bike failure because of, ostensibly, where we had wandered to, but we were 4 miles from the shop. Then they charged us $60 to retrieve the bikes from 4 miles away. Then they refused to refund us for a whole day that we had paid for but didn't have the bikes (not even counting the day on which we couldn't continue our ride). Then they were incredibly rude and hostile and threatening in person. The owner really has a self-control issue.

  I've visited Charleston a few times and highly recommend renting a bike to get around and see the city. The Arthur Revnel bridge is amazing to ride! Plus the sites, eating and shopping by bike is just a whole other experience. These guys are local, conveniently located and reasonably priced--also very friendly and accommodating! I highly recommend afford a bike! Ill definitely use them again and again!

  I just had a great experience at this bike shop. Had my bike tuned up and received white glove service start-to-finish. The bike is riding like new.

  We purchased a Brewster and a Queen and have enjoyed them. Staff was super and we have returned to store for accessories and a few parts. Staff is always helpful and store is well stocked. Can not go wrong with Affordabike.

  Hands down the best way to see Charleston is via bicycle and this shop came recommended from our Airbnb hosts, and they were not wrong. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
