Really great place nice service nice movie theaters theater as well staff is really welcoming
In some effort to reduce costs and maximize profits, this theatre has decided to only offer 1 matinee show for most movies with a shotgun start time of around 1:30 which has resulted in long lines outside in the cold and even longer lines inside. Wait time on Sunday was 45 minutes plus as only 2 employees sold tickets. Many people left in disgust after their movie had already begun. Others who bought tickets in advance were made to wait as well. Disorganized and aloof, this theatre obviously lacks proper, competent management.
The staff seemed friendly, parking was easy to find, and the tickets are a decent price. However, the theatre we were in smelled a bit, and the seats weren't all that comfortable. It wasn't terrible by any means, but it wasn't the best either.
UNBELIEVABLE!! I would not even give you 1 star if that was a possibility. Brought my daughter to a show at 4:30 and could not use my gift card. Cash or credit only, seriously?? You do not have a back up plan for your system not reading gift cards?? No apologies just blank stares from the 3 kids standing at the ticket counter. It’s not like i had a short drive to get here either. I won’t be back, i will taken my business elsewhere.
Very nice theater. Thought I was lucky to get a ticket for $6 and was then floored to learn that a medium Coke is $7. Something double the size would be $0.99 at a gas station.
Great movie selection, snack options, semi-comfy seats, and clean bathrooms.
Only place near EIU to go to for a movie, but its always a good time. No complaints.
Nice clean! I have never had a problem waiting long to get in except for the last Star Wars movie. Seats are comfortable and clean. Washrooms plenty stalls and clean. Prices are A+.
Good movie. The movie now has a lot more food and drink choices. The staff are friendly. We go to the movie often, so the staff know us.
This theatre was fine when the Savoy and Champaign theatres were average too, but now that the theatres in Savoy and Champaign have been significantly renovated, the only thing the Mattoon theatre offers is geographical convenience. Hoping they renovate soon.
nice clean theater, they was out of butter for popcorn.
Always good sorta pricey eat before unless you want to spend money on pop and popcorn
This is a clean theater with a decent selection of movies. You have to drive to Champaign to find better. By the time a film is older it is relegated to the smaller screens, nice but not epic.
I recommend a matinee for the price and crowd conscious.
The revamped concessions are nice. Matinees are still the most reasonably priced option
Seriously the most unpleasant visit I have ever had. I will never be returning to Mattoon AMC ever again. I tried to get more information on signing up for their rewards since you can't buy anything unless you are. Absolutely no one would give me the time of day, including the manager, so I said forget and paid for our tickets. Since we weren't signed up for rewards a drink and popcorn would cost $16 instead of $6 so we just went to the theater. The theater smelled ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING and there was trash everywhere. I'm assuming no one cleaned between movies but considering it was a Tuesday afternoon my guess is that no one cleaned it. Our clothes wreaked after sitting in the seats through the movie and we had to go home and changed before continuing our day. If I could rate zero stars, I would.
