Its a one star. My guy wanna stay there, i never do. I like 5 star hotels
I stayed here for 10 years couple times a week through company work. I go to check in today they say all contracts cancelled no room available. If that's the way the new owners are going to treat people wow This is fact as it did happen today. I had to drive to Baymont Inn and Suites actually much nicer hotel also
WORST HOTEL STAY. I made an unconfirmed booking because of the poor reviews and when I called in to confirm they failed to mention that they were under construction and both pools were down. We woke up to the sound of banging and drilling on Saturday morning at 7 AM. Not only in the room next door, but also directly above us.
I asked if they could wait until 10 AM and the new owners refused. The room smelled like spoke, the walls are thin, and the beds are terribly uncomfortable. Half of the light bulbs were missing in the room and there were stains on the floors and bed sheets. The front desk said they would reimburse me and they never did.
Spend the extra $20 and stay some where better. In fact, stay in a motel off the highway over this place.
If you're looking for a cheap place to rest your head, then look no further. If you're used to comfort and cleanliness, then keep moving. We stayed this past weekend and thankfully we didn't spend much time in the room.
Once you walk passed the lobby into the hotel, the whole place smells like musty weed. The carpet in the room was just this side of sticky. That's okay though, because the smell is distracting enough that you don't really notice. The liner in the bathtub was all messed up so it seems like you're showering on a waterbed. The pillow cases on the beds were stained. And there was only really one place to plug in your phone, because the outlet by the beds is dirty and likely to catch on fire at any time.
Also, everyone we passed by in the hotel was just creepy enough to make us wish for more locks on the doors.
The hot tub is empty. The sauna doesn't work. The pool is VERY small and 4' deep. The outdoor pool is closed. Our room is non-smoking, but reeks of smoke. There is apparently A LOT of pot smoking going on, because the halls reek as well. On the other hand, convenient location, nice staff, clean and well stocked room. They have a very nice lounge and bar. If there weren't 12k+ athletes and their families staying in Grand Rapids, I'd look for something else.
The presidential suite was perfect. We loved our private pool. Very attentive staff.
This is a Shenanigans run hotel, if you can see the humor in the blaise style of upkeep you will survive. Staff has free run to treat everyone however they see fit, and know how far they can go. Including acting like Cat family friendly for maybe a week. For the price its on par. Probably looks better drunk, but don't worry there's a bar. Very calm atmosphere don't expect to be wooed But they do write you notes. They would not want any shining stars on premises, just Shenanigans. Staff works well together.
Good bar service. Karaoke was good. The hotel and bar is in real need of updating. Felt like I was trapped in the 70's
Just terrible we reserved a room n a week in advance and we was suppose too get a 2queen beds and a patio instead they gave us a nasty room wit 2 full size bed and the room recently had bed bugs we was very disappointed cause that was not the room we reserved so we got our money back and left I will Never go there again #terrible
Run down. Not a good area of town. Not very clean. Terrible nightclub manager.
RUDE!!! Nasty rooms. Stains on sheets and bedding. Never had such horrible customer service. They are extremely disrespectful. Don't ask for more toilet paper or towels because whats in your room is what you get. Smells of pot really bad. The only nice person was the waitress at the bar.
We absolutely love this hotel, and so do the kids. It's always very clean, and the staff are amazing. There are so many places to visit nearby as well. Highly recommend!! The breakfast is amazing too!
