Was pleasantly surprised staying here. The location was amazing close to all nightlife. The hotel seemed well cleaned,it had a vintage feel,our bathroom had a clawfoot tub. It had an amazing atmosphere ,everyone behind the desk was friendly and the make sure randoms are coming in and out of the hotel. We didn't stay hostel style, we had private everything, for the price and atmosphere it can't be beat.

The evening desk clerk could've been a lot friendlier.. But, I don't think he was rude intentionally. I think maybe it's just a brisk personality type.
Was initially put into a dirty room. Also, no towels or anything of that sort. It's a "hotel" and hostel so I thought towels were a given?response / report this review -

I'm on day 1 of 5 and already don't want to be here. I'm only in Denver because my husband is admitted to Denver health and $60+ a night is WAY to much for what you get. If you have long hair get a gym membership because the water pressure is so low your hair won't even get wet. The water can not even stay the same temperature for more then 5 seconds. I could not imagine having a period in this place because you can't wash your hands before leaving the community bathroom. The bed is very uncomfortable and the sink in the room looks like it has not been cleaned since the place was built. I would just go somewhere else but they hard pulled the money out of the account for all 5 days so I'm stuck here till Friday. I can't say I expected 5 stars because of the price but I have stayed at places cheaper then this and had at least a sink in the bathroom.
And to top this stay off even more my room connects to a house keeping closet and someone just opened the damn door and slammed it shut because I had a knife in my hand. To find out even more when I called the front desk they say nobody from house keeping is even here and nobody should even be in that toom, so who just gained access to my room? Got changed to another (smaller) room and the floor is disgusting with beer bottle caps all over.response / report this review -

I really liked this place. We paid a little more and got the private room instead of the dorms. It's such a cool little place to stay, and everyone there is very nice and inviting. The private rooms don't have their own bathrooms or showers, those are shared and are located down the hall but there was never anyone in there when I went. It's a bit of an old building but I found it interesting! It's very close to several bars and coffees shops, and also right across the street from the bus stop that takes you to the airport. I will definitely be staying here the next time I visit Denver!

I was hesitant to stay here given some of the bad reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised! They recently went through/are going through remodels so the place is looking good. It’s pretty simple, but cheap with a great location. It can get a little noisy, but it didn’t matter much because we were going out to bars and staying out late too. Definitely a place for younger adults. I didn’t have any issues with bugs or the cleanliness of the communal bathrooms or rooms. Everything was kept up nicely. Staff was nice, helpful, and always at the front desk. There isn’t much atmosphere, but really it’s a great price for the location and just somewhere to sleep.

First off, no parking. This means that you will have to park around the corner, on the street, at the meters. But not between 2am and 6am, between those hours you will have to move. On to the actual hostel. Regardless of what it says in the name, this is a HOSTEL, not a HOTEL. The rooms were dingy and small, no air conditioning aside from a desk fan in an open window. There is a single sink in the room. Bathrooms are, get ready, COMMUNAL, with 3 toilets and 1 small shower per half of each floor. And if you DO want to use the tiny shower, the hostel charges a deposit per towel. The bed has a thin quilt, and the mattress is covered in plastic, which does not lend to a good night's sleep.

I just moved in and it so very quite here, other than the street noise. It is old and run down but very clean. The front desk has been very helpful. I even get internet and TV in my room with a very spacious closet. You can even open your window for fresh air. You cannot beat the price.
I would personally recommend this place to anyone who is in need of a very low budget motel, European style. Nothing fiance but it all works. You even get a personnel shower, not a group shower and a private toilet with a locked door.
I am very impressed. There is also a day room with dishes, toaster, microwave and any other appliance you need. It even has a big TV for the games and a big couch to watch them on. It is like living at grandmas house.

Neat place, stayed two nights. First room was pretty barren and was apparently how they are before being remodeled. A lot of foreigners travel through so you never know who you are going to meet, had beers with a guy named Thor from Germany! How neat! The second room was remodeled and was quite a lot better, Impressively almost. The only major draw back is the Metal Bed Frames You'd think for a dorm you'd want to go Wood to decrease the noise as much as possible. It's a little frustrating trying to be quiet but every time you move in the bunk bed it makes decent amount of noise. Either replace them or lubricate them with WD40.

Private room was great, bathrooms left a little to be desired. Single, shared showers were usually clean, but occasionally one would get clogged and flood with an inch of water. Toilets also didn't seem to get cleaned more than once per day, kind of an issue if traveling and forced to share. Still, all around decent place to stay due to the location and price. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff. Clean great location Only drawback I have is no parking other than street parking Pain in the butt parking meters.. prices are nice 66 for a private room when I was there. And they keep the street people out of the establishment Good job 11th Ave nice to see a historic building getting a new life

Worst housing experience ever. Employees do not like to work here. Almost everyone has cynical attitude. The gentleman in the picture spends half his time on the street smoking cigarettes. He calls it a Roma therapy. The gentleman works early in the day and if you try to use the lobby chairs, he tells you he's cleaning and will be done in 15 minutes. Fast forward 1 hour and the chairs are still tilted up as if they don't want you to use a Lobby in the morning. The gentleman mostly acts like a social Fugitive with no eye contact. All the soap in the showers and sinks are wasted because they haphazardly fall down into the sink. Employees do not care.

A old hotel with both sharing and private rooms. Facilities are of moderate quality. Easily accessible through cab. Provide hair dryer and iron as complimentary on demand. Room and bathroom facilities are of only moderate quality. Not good for family stay.

I highly advise that people stay somewhere else. My friends and I reserved a room here for Pride weekend, and the accommodations were garbage. Out of all the hostels and hotels I've ever stayed in, this is the worst experience yet. They charged us $90 a night, and I will explain why this place wasn't worth nearly that much. The building was dated and poorly-kept, we couldn't get hot water in the showers, the entire building had no air conditioning, the beds were extremely old and uncomfortable -- it felt like we were sleeping on an old, hard, springy mattress covered in plastic. The room doors seemed to lack proper security (locks were loose and the doors didn't fully latch), they charged for things like extra towels, [most of] the staff had bad attitudes and/or were confrontational. They charged us $17 per night for a cot in our room (totaling $51). We not only never received said cot, but when we asked for a $51 refund upon checkout, they gave us $5 back and they refused to refund any more than that. Per their policy (according to front desk staff), everyone who wanted to head upstairs to the rooms (guest or not) was required to produce a photo I.D. to the front desk. This was a requirement for people who even wanted to just hang out for an hour or two with friends in a room. With no exaggeration, I've never stayed in a hostel or hotel that ever enforced that in policy. On this hostel's website, there are photos of rooms that make this place look clean, hospitable, and pristine -- they are not realistic representations of this place at all. I honestly cannot figure out why people are rating this place 2, 3, 4, or 5 stars. Do yourselves a solid, and look elsewhere for accommodations in downtown Denver.

As long as you're aware some of the cheap rooms will not be air conditioned and that you're okay with bathroom and shower in the hallways, then you're good to go! Cheap nightly rate (for where it is! Cheapest within many miles!!!) and the staff was helpful with any questions!!! No pets allowed here, and parking in the area is scarce, but all in all a pretty nice place to rest your head if you're looking for cheap and no-frills

My stay was as expected. The room was clean. Windows open and they provided a fan to stay cool in the room. The TV made a loud ringing noise when it was on and there was a slight smell to the building. The community rest rooms are kept very clean. I would recommend this location if you are looking for a cheap stay in Denver. Staff was super friendly and overall was a good stay.
