  The male reception staff was not polite. The wifi is not for free.The bed is too angusty and make noise when you turn over your body.

  It repainted its interior and the room doors and they still put guests into painting-oil smelling rooms and the smell is so strong that my nose ultimately got infected and running. And after I talk about this, the receiptionist seems not care as much as it should be. I understand they don't want to lose money just because rooms are repainted, but I guess they could have done better by painting segamentedly so the newly painted rooms can have some time to diminish the smell while having other rooms catering guests. I think maybe it's because they don't care about how guests feel that much so they decided to do it in a simple way.

  I spent two nights at the YMCA hostel in Auckland. I just basically needed somewhere clean to lay my head at night, that wasn't going to break the bank and it was all of that. The staff were lovely, my bedroom was fine, it was clean and as a bonus there was even a small desk and a fridge. I would definitely go there again no problems!! Many thanks!!!

  No one make the mistake I did and listen to the "YMCA Switch Off' label taped onto one of the outlets. It is attached to the refrigerator. I unknowingly gave myself food poisoning, was puking all night and had to throw away all my groceries.

  The one thing which saves the place is the staff. My room smelled really bad so they changed me and offered an internet voucher to compensate. Though rooms are small with plain and boring feel to them Kitchen is poorly equipped and dirty.

  I lived there for almost 4 years as a long term tennant. Because of renovations i had to move 2 times. I really enjoyed my time there. The reception staff was always friendly and helpful and i still like to pop by for a chat. The facilities were always clean.
