Cheap rooms, yet still very clean. Kitchen is also very clean and has all the kitchen tools available, friendly staff, 2 GB free Wi-fi per day, all in all probably one of the best hostels you can stay in in Auckland.

Decent hostel but pricey just like everything else in Auckland. $60 bucks will get you a twin room $90 will get you a queen bed without sharing a bathroom.

Kitchen is huge, if you share a bathroom expect to wait to use the toilet and shower.

Overall it's a nice hostel but Airbnb probably has better accommodations for the same price.

It sucks you only get 2Gb of internet a day. I went through mine in a couple hours.

This YHA is in a good location for exploring the city. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The facilities were clean and well maintained. A good sized kitchen is provided but there is limited dining space. The bedrooms are quite crampt and there are not enough toilets or showers compared to the number of beds.

Decent backpackers but no parking. Big kitchen, but plain. Busy, but not too crowded.

These was the cheapest accommodation we could find that was in the closest to the Queens Street and the venues we were going to. We were happy with the service and it gave us a place to stay and sleep at the end of the day. I misunderstood the description of the room and booked very tiny room with a single bed, but the staff helped us move to a better room the next day. A guy collapsed in the lobby while we were there and the young staff was rattled she didn't know what to do so we called the ambulance from my friend's mobile. I wrote to management about the incident and they said that they will see to it that staff is well trained for this sort of thing. I really admire management for responding quickly.

While the building itself seems a little cramped, everything else is fantastic. The kitchen and prep area is spacious, the rooms are clean and well equipped. The free lockers in the rooms are huge, and every bed has its own personal plug socket and USB charging point. The beds are stable and comfortable. The staff are all incredibly friendly, and the WiFi is both free and fast! Great place to stay.

Rooms are awesome here, no complaints there.
Showers are super tiny with only one hook / nowhere to hang things. The shower curtains are close so it sticks to your legs a lot and are also too small so water leaks everywhere if you're not careful like someone who flooded the room before me.

Laundry is almost non existent here too, the dryers were constantly used up drying sheets while I was here so there was no way to dry my laundry in the hostel. Luckily there is a laundromat right around the corner.

Would go to other better hostels if in Auckland again, either the other YHA or the other more unique hostels around Auckland.
