Disappointed by the services at the help desk. Some staff are very unprofessional and quite rude.

Fantastic experience. Very friendly staf, shop with lots of souvenirs and café/restaurant at start. You get a lot of interesting stories and movies on the boat while searching for whales, sharks, birds. Due to their experience and tools the chance of a whale encounter is over 90%!

After reading the terms and conditions carefully I booked my whale watch tour back in May and travelled from Singapore to New Zealand to board the whale watching boat and see some whale. Of course I fully realised that it may possible that we would not see any whales on the whale watch tour.
On the day of the tour the weather was fantastic and we arrived 10 minutes before the tour was scheduled to leave. Shortly after that an announcement sounded that the tour was cancelled as the previous whale watch tour has not seen any whales. I was stunned - I reread the terms and conditions and confirmed there is no mention of the likelihood of the tour being cancelled if the tour operator did not think that whales could be seen on the tour. They just stated to call before arriving as the tour may be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
Furthermore the T&C states that if whales are not seen on the tour 80% of the cost would be refunded - to the reader it strongly infers the tour would go ahead even if the likelihood of seeing whales is Low the tour operator is completely misrepresenting and the T&Cs are not clear enough.
The T&C must be updated with - “Please be aware if the days previous boat tours have not seen a whale, we may cancel the subsequent tours”. This will empower the customers to ask the rights questions before booking I.E (I) are the weather conditions favourable to take out the boats (ii) what is the likelihood of seeing a whale? and have the previous boat tours seen whales.
Additionally I phoned the previous day but due to the late arrival of our flight it was out of hours and I listened to the Kaikoura voicemail message, this contained no useful information - I would suggest it would be useful to add a short update of that days whale watch I.E no whales were seen in our catchment area today . or . 2 whales were seen today. In the age of information technology, the Kaikoura whale watch tours give remarkably little information.

Thanks whale watch tours you have really wasted my time today on my holiday - this is totally unacceptable.

First tour for three days due to bad weather and everyone was skeptical about seeing a whale. Just before we headed back a sperm whale was spotted! Well worth the trip out for the stunning marine life and scenery. Service was very professional although the presentation is a bit lacklustre.

I've done this tour twice now and I can only say that it's great. The staff is really friendly and knows a lot about all the animals that you'll get to see. They're very good at whale spotting, so there is a big chance you will actually get to see the whales! The boats are nice, not too big, and comfy.

Great company to go whale watching with while in Kaikoura. Ended up seeing four sperm whales in one trip. They provided funny and insightful commentary as well during the trip. Highly recommended.

Best experience in my life. The staff is really friendly and swiming with the dolphins is so much fun. It's expensive but it's worth it. The dolphins are wild, not trained, not feed and they play with you in the water. We also saw a whale. Would highly recommend this experience.

Terrific few hours, whale watching. Boat very stable, fast to get you there. They work in tandem with plane tours so information is shared on sightings etc. We saw two sperm whales at the surface and able to take some great pictures from the upper deck. Commentary from crew was informative, and we'll presented. Would recommend.

I heard that many trips got to be cancelled off due to the strong wind and current, And was glad that our trip was not being cancel off. The trip was amazing, and I have learn many interesting facts and informations for whales. Thank you for the fun memories.
