We had a marvellous flight with Antony at Wings over Whales with an excellent and informative briefing by the other pilot Oscar. Very professional, friendly, and found a whale almost exactly where they predicted. Fascinating to see a whale dive, and the huge pod of dolphins further on. Stunning scenery, smooth flying, and lovely weather made it a day to remember. Excellent day in Kaikoura

From the get go, the staff were super friendly and informative. When I called to book I spoke to Jamie who was an absolute delight. We laughed and he informed us of the next step. Upon arrival Edward gave us a perfect rundown and answered any questions we had at ease. (We loved his cheesy jokes). Our pilot for the day was Anthony, he was present from the moment we walked into the beautiful wooden flight centre and enjoyed a good old yarn with us. He made me feel at ease about the whole trip, and for someone that has a fear of flying that's a pretty tough task. If you're going to do anything in Kaikoura, this is an ABSOLUTE MUST. Although there is a 95% chance of seeing a whale we were more than aware of the 5% chance of not seeing any However, we were absolutely stunned at the sighting of 2 of these amazing creatures in their natural habitat, the breath taking views and the very pleasant flight! Can not thank the staff enough. Absolutely amazing in every aspect!! Steve and Leanne

    Dear Wings Over Whales Kaikoura,

Sorry comment SO late, I was busy looking for jobs in Dunedin. I didn't know it's so hard to find jobs here.
I must say it was an extraordinary experience with your flights, your excellent service made everything perfect and enjoyable. I felt like the VIP of VIPs, and I saw four sperm whales and hundreds of dolphins on that day. It's amazing to saw whales from airplane, I am totally shocked when I saw the whale tails up under sunshine.

Mr. Edward Griffiths is a great pilot and thanks for dropped me off at Kaikoura Peninsula, with your excellent local knowledge, I had a great time there and took a lot of pictures of seals. Also thanks for recommend the yummy crayfish. It's so lucky to choose your service. Really appreciate that. Wish all the best to all of you.

Very friendly and competent staff. Our first flight time was cancelled due to bad weather and they were very flexible in rescheduling us for another time. Briefing arrangements were well organised and informative in the most pleasant airport I've been in. The flight itself was beautiful with stunning views of the mountains. We saw two sperm whales and we got to watch them for some time and see them dive.

12 out of 10 - Just amazing!! I've been to Kaikoura many times, and have been whale watching a couple of times. Flying above the whales was incredible, not only do you really see the whole scale of each whale, but when they are sub-surface you can see the whales the whole time, unlike being in a boat, when you see them while they are on the surface. We saw lots of whales, Humpbacks & Sperm whales, as well as heaps of dolphins and seals. Really loved this experience and it is an ABSOLUTE MUST for anyone going to Kaikoura. Thanks alot Wings Over Whales!

This whale watch tour exceeded my expectations! We got to see 4 whales and a pod of dolphins!
I got a beautiful sunny day with no wind. It didn't take us long to spot our first Sperm Whale, followed closely by another. We circled, watching them breathe, then got to see both of them dive (tail moment). We then flew toward the coastline and found two Humpback Whales swimming amongst a large pod of Dusky Dolphins. Whale watching by flight gives an incredible perspective on these animalsTheir size is truely impressive. You're also afforded some beautiful Canterbury scenery while your at it.

Wings over Whales staff were so lovely and the brief was interesting and informative.
    I highly recommend it.

Terrible and reluctant staffs. Never more. Also we didn't see any whale and they didn't offer us another flight in the next days. They told us "only if there is gonna be free sit during the other flights.

The whale watching experience with Wings Over Whales was exceptional. We saw 3 blue whales with a bit of luck and patience of the pilot. Great service too! Apart from the friendliness, we left on time though the plane was not full but only us. And it's not pricy at all! We were utterly happy afterwards. It's a much better solution than boats to our opinions: much less time consuming and comfy without couple hours bumping on the sea :0 Highly recomended!
