We had really nice stay in this campsite. The owner is very friendly and helpful. She gave us a lot of good tips where to go, to snorkel or see animals.
The cabin we stayed in was very cozy too.
    Kaikoura really is magical place!

Stayed here 2 Nights. In my 6 months in nz I think this campsite has the most bang for buck. 18 bucks for 1 adult, comes with showers, kitchen, barbecue area and unbeatable beachfront views. Well worth it.

This ended up being our favourite south island campsite. That is what is known as damning with faint praise. However this is unfair. It has only a couple of small faults an one major one. The major fault is that is located next to the extremely and ceaselessly noisy SH1. This has also resulted in number locks on the doors to the amenity blocks. These are not the most child friendly arrangements.
The showers and lights in these amenity blocks are also timer controlled, usually resulting in soap filled eyes and naked blundering around for the switches.
However all this is offset by a wonderful campsite for families. The kids loved it. We loved it. Mini-golf, flying fox, beach, sea, mountains, etc. It was an excellent end to a very long holiday. I’m pretty sure we will be back.
