Staff are beautiful ladies. Helpful and funny. Such a pleasure to meet them. We had 8 in our group. We had a wonderful night there. It was freezing but I would not have missed it. Our bus driver was funny. Pay respect when you are there. You are on their country. So important.
Nice place but didnt do much here. Wud prefer to go straight to village from being picked up
Amazing experience, enjoyable from hotel pickup to drop off. Our driver on pickup was so entertaining, the Mauri experience was so informative, entertaining and enjoyable. We loved every minute.
Very interesting and educational. Definitely recommended for anyone who is interested in learning about the Maori culture and its history. Also recommend volunteering to be your tribes chief if you have an opportunity (you'll understand once you get there). It sounds scary but it's a lot of fun and let's you participate in a lot of fun activities. Kia Ora to my friends out there!
The staff and crew of Tamaki Maori Village offer an educational cultural experience that immerses the audience into the village presentations. From the pick-up to the drop off at the hotel, we learned, participated, ate and sang along with the Maori. Great time!
I'd read a lot of reviews about Tamaki, many good, some bad, and as a result had mild expectations. I was expecting it to be a little cheesy, a bit of a tourist trap. I was wrong. Of course it exists primarily for tourism, but there is something to be gained here. The passion of the performances was impressive. The staff were very funny, friendly and knowledgable. The food was good, also better than I expected. And most importantly, I walked away from this with a deeper appreciation for Maori language and culture, which is why I came in the first place.
Fantastic experience, would absolutely recommend. Informative, interesting and interactive experience with a really good fresh buffet style dinner. A great way to learn about Maori history and culture and have a fun evening.
It's a very touristy thing to do, but the effort and cultural value you get from this experience makes for a very positive experience. All of the staff work very hard to teach about their culture and ancestry, which really shows. The bonus is that the food was also great. I don't think veggies have ever tasted so good!
Great way of providing information about the Maori culture. However, you are part of a big group and don't really feel special. The actors can also break character quite a bit, and the staff got a bit too pushy about getting involved.
Worth every Dollar. Had a great time. Especially one Maori Singer who blew away the whole audience with his amazing voice. Learning the Haka was great.
Tamaki has won multiple tourism awards and continuously adds extra things to the village itself. The staff in all areas are passionate about what they do and visitors / tourists get a whole experience of Maori culture, food, language, traditional arts and crafts,an experience of how the old Maori villages looked and food cooked in the earth oven tradition. It is great value for money
Fun look into their history. The show + dinner was fun, but was longer than I had anticipated. A bus picked us up from our hotel and dropped us back off after. The driver was really crazy, but in a fun way.
