I only rate the best places to eat and I have to say this is probably the best Indian food in NZ I eat here every month and when we are down as a family and the food and service are FANTASTIC 😄😄😄😄

I've traveled a lot. And this place managed to have the worst experience in a restaurant of my life. The waiter (I don't recall his name although I'd definitely remember him if I see him again) was very rude from the start. He didn't help us at all at explaining the dishes and didn't even make an effort to do so. A couple minutes after we ordered, we needed to ask him for more beverage. We kept calling him and giving him signals (nothing out of the ordinary, just usual hand signals that everyone does to get a waiter's attention) and we saw that he noted, but not once he bothered to come to us. When dishes arrived, some of our orders were wrong. God forbid telling him that. He just walked out as if nothing have happened. When we asked for the bill, we tried asking him another thing but he just as usual walked out without saying anything. With us, he didn't once smiled or anything. Just kept a poker face. I know for a fact that language wasn't the problem since I heard him talking and laughing with the other waiters in english and I do speak english. When we left, I had to go after him to at least ask his name so I could do some sort of report. He told it to me but sadly I forgot. Nothing to tell about the food. This experience ruined everything else about that place.

Nice looking indian restaurant. Biryani rice was quite good. Cheese naan was burnt on bottom, not the authentic naan that I was expecting.

Chicken tikka and naan were awesome. Butter chicken was a bit sweet for our taste. Service was good and prompt.

One of the busiest Indian food joint in Rotorua. Part of the trendy food street located next to the lakeside promenade. Popular among westerners and Indian tourists. Extensive North Indian menu. Service could be slow in busy hours. Advanced reservations recommended.

This was a wonderful place to stumble upon while on honeymoon. While the delicious food all over NZ was great, vegetarian options were hard to find and, more often then not, was gnocchi. The options here were varied, authentic, and delicious; not to mention at a great price!

Horrible experience dealing with the staffs and even the owner. Unacceptable policy and unacceptable manners. The story ends. Will never go back and will NEVER RECOMMEND anyone to go.

Ordered the banquet for two at $34 a head. We were only ate half of the meal so asked to take away the other half. We were shocked to be told we were not allowed to takeaway due to company policy. When I asked what would happen to the food, I was told it would be thrown away. I became angry and argued that I would not pay for the meal unless I could take the remaining food away. A screaming match ensued with the restaurant owner saying he would "break my knees if I dared to leave the restaurant". An absurd policy, abhorrent management and a horrendous experience overall. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT.

I would be seriously surprised if anyone mildly familiar with Indian tastes & delicacies would go to this restaurant a second time. I ordered Chicken Biryani takeaway & when I finally opened the pack, I got confused if I ordered something else by mistake. It would still be fine if it was tasty, but no it want, not even a bit.
The only low point of our Rotorua experience
