Heartland was a very nice place to stay overnight. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for our afternoon at Lake Matheson.

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! They charged us twice and said they can do whatever they want in a very insulting manner. Breakfast was advertised for a lower price on their website and they demanded significantly higher price. Extremely rude staff.

The walls in the room are so thin, you can hear everything next door. Very loud. The king sized bed is not comfortable for a couple, very hard in the center of the bed. Staff were very poor with service, we walked into reception and no one was there. We had to wait and then approached the counter where a man had been sitting the entire time. Not very helpful. Rooms are nice. Poor staff and room noise

We stayed 2 nights in February. The hotel is well located in the centre of the village and has plenty of free parking. Our room no. 32 was quite small and faced side or back across a roof. It was small and lacked storage. The bed was comfortable. The window was smeared with something sticky and was not cleaned after we complained. The fridge did not work. No black teabags were provided until we asked for them. The sink did not drain properly. The bathroom was not properly cleaned and neither was the staircase leading to the room. The bar and restaurant was a lively pub and we enjoyed dinner and drinks there. However the loud thumping music on Friday night until late kept us awake. There was no aircon in our room so we had the window open and were woken by loud drunken singing the second night! We did not try the buffet breakfast as it seemed expensive for what we were likely to want to eat. There are other breakfast options within walking distance.

The backpacker hostel and the hotel are strictly separated so don't be surprised!
