This is a good late night spot to get food and drinks. They've got a great selection of beer and plenty of pub dishes. Their lamb burger had good flavors. The fish and chips were generous and tasted great; however, it had a bit too much batter on it.

They forgot our meals and if they were good at their jobs they would have noticed everyone else eating before us and still didn't pick up on it when we were practically the only ones left. Too busy cleaning and not paying attention to the customers. And then the meal wasn't that great and my vodka & lemonade was flat. Not a great lunch, used to be in the past though. The days of a good pub meal in Rotorua are long gone. 👎

The service staff there are friendly! Great food and VERY reasonable price! When you are at Rotorua you should drop by! And the location is just at a junction ! Easy to locate! Nice draft beer and cider!

The steak was like $33.50
I think is considered affordable and best quality

Great service, atmosphere and food. 1/2 size fish and chips more than enough for the average appetite. Music 'April Ash' made the experience even better. Thanks will dine again when in town.

Fantastic service, great food and great beverage choice!! The staff were fantastic and in particular Brendan he showed great hospitality! So glad we visited this place in Rotorua - will definitely return!

Great atmosphere. The perfect pub grub for a wintery wet and cold afternoon/evening. Our soup of the day choice was excellent. Should not have also ordered a main. The 1/2 size fish n chips was huge. Couldn't eat it all. Thoroughly recommend. Only reason I haven't given it 5 stars was because the meal prices were on the high side for pub fare.

We got burger and the fish and chips. It was a ton of food. The fish had a ton of breeding on it, but the fish itself was good. Burger was good as well.

Very nice restaurant with friendly staff. There was a woman singing live, and the people (and ourselves) enjoyed it. The food was delicious, fresh and well prepared. Only downside is the salad sauce (which also seemed self made and was very tasty) is a bit much, half of the salad was drowning in it. So we couldn't empty the plates. Still it is a restaurant I will go back to and recommend. They also have a bar with several beers and ciders to choose from.

Unfortunately I simply cannot recommend the Pig and Whistle. The portions were enormous, unfortunately that's the best thing I can say about the food. The quality of the ingredients was poor. I had a burger, the bacon was cheap and chewy/hard, the mushroom undercooked. The curly fries were ok. Staff were very helpful and friendly, unfortunately the food was simply not up to snuff.

Visited for lunch. Staff were great, helpful and friendly. Sadly the food was of poor quality. Huge quantity of less than average food. Imagine the kind of pub food you'd have been served 20 years ago. Very dated with little care taken. A slab of average meat, poor quality fries and a salad of wilting greens. Menu needs a complete refresh.
