Magnificent scenery! The only downside is the number of tourists but you're part of that problem too. Highly recommend veering off the trail to the right just before the end. This small path takes you past the hordes to a much better view point we're you can soak in the glorious views by yourself. It takes you about half way down the lake towards the glacier. Wear hiking clothes and decent footwear as this is the mountains and weather can and does change. Saw 2 people with runners hobbling with twisted ankles from the trail.

Really nice trail .. goes between two lakes and boasts amazing views of the mountain, glacier, both Crystal blue lakes, and the river in between. If you're lucky and can go there in spring, you can also see lots of wild flowers along the way. It took us 2.5 hrs including the photo stop at the end.

Nice easy walk. View of "tiny" glacier at the end. You can grab some chunks of glacier ice at the shore of the lake there for a nice cold refreshment while heading back again.

Beautiful walk - stunning scenery. Obviously quite popular with good reason. Not too tricky walking. Great to see some icebergs floating down from the glacier at the foot of Mount Cook. Not sure how good it would be if the clouds were in low as it's all about the alpine views

A definitely must do hike. Pathway is well maintained (like all other track in New Zealand). Beautiful scenery. Fresh air and magnificent view of Mount Cook. At the end of the track, you'll be presented by floating Glacier at Hooker Lake. Just magnificent.

Beautiful walk even in heavy wind and rain! Stunning area of NZ to take in. Listen out for the crack and pop of small avalanches in the range.

A must do hike that has breathtaking views of Mount Cook and the surrounding mountains. Hooker Lake was spectacular with its icebergs throughout. Going on the evening cast a wonderful sunset light on Mount Cook. Highly recommended!

It's a fair easy walk. Involved some steps but you can take it slow. It can get really foggy in the early morning when I went in late April (mid autumn) but it cleared up when the sun is up. You can really spend a few hours and simply enjoy the tranquility.

Easily one of my favourite things that we did in South island, very easy track but make sure you bring a snack, a good camera and plenty of water!

Hooker Valley track is a very nice and easy walk to the Hooker Valley from where you can see beautiful Mount Aoraki/Cook and a part of glacier. The best views are in a sunny weather because Mount Cook is hiding behind the clouds. From the Hooker Valley Mount cook looks really scary - it looks like crocodile face or something.

    Great track for hiking.
Not difficult at all but sun is really strong so need sunblock to protect your skin.
    Beautiful nature
    Incredible lake and mountains.

Great trek! Great views while trekking. The lake at the end is a bit tad disappointing but still the trek is worth it.

Beautiful track with great sights. Ending at ice lake is a little bit anticlimactic, but still a great walk
