Basic DOC campsite, toilets okay. Stayed for 1 night in November and it was very full. Self registration $13 per person. Scenary is amazing, it's at the start of the Hooker Valley track which is a great walk.

Good campsite with common cooking and dining area (with sinks for washing dishes), waste and recycling, drinking water. Fantastic scenery. Decent space for campervans and vehicles, but I can imagine it would be quite packed during high season. Lots of space for tenting, but not much privacy/seclusion.

Great camping ground. Watch out for rolling boulders. Expensive during high season.

Park here and save 30min walk from the village, your legs will thank you. Decent toilets and stunning views. Arrive as early as you can to make the most of the day.

Crammed in high season. Great shelter here provides some shelter from the cold. Running water inside is labelled as safe to drink. This campsite set the standard for this DOC grade of campsite for my whole south island camping trip. Good toilets here. No showers. Gets very cold here at night - suggest 3 season sleeping bag as a minimum. You can both watch the stars on a clear night and listen to the ice break off Mt. Sefton during the night when there is less noise. Lovely spot.

Great campsite and amazing views. Can be difficult to find tentsite for larger tents.

Great campground between the mountains. No showers but there are paid ones in the town (2 NZD for 5 minutes). The campground has two buildings with restrooms and there's a public shelter with restrooms.

The fee is 13 NZD per night, payable in exact change (cash only) in box at the campground. No supermarkets or supply stores here or in the town because this is a national park. So be sure to stock up on supplies in Twizel before you head over.
