Cheerful staff - but sneaky new policy of charging $200 security dep been renting cars for 30 years and never seen that one before. They have credit card details, they have a water tight rental agreement and they have your insurance this is just a shameless money grab - shame on you Hertz.
I left a hat in my rental car, one phone call and they posted it to me in Australia. thank you so much .Very much appreciated .
We arrived 30 minutes prior to pick up for our booked vehicle at ChCh Airport, this was on 15th March 2017, we had to wait in a long queue and then was told our preferred vehicle was not available and an equivalent vehicle was being sent up from the workshop. Two and a half hours later a very dirty and scruffy Toyota Rav 4 arrived and the chap in charge gave us the keys and a folder of details which we were instructed to put in the glovebox. The vehicle was scratched and dented but to our knowledge this was not noted by the staff or witnessed by us, we were somewhat concerned and felt that as they (Hertz) were running late and had held us up for so long they just wanted us gone. Well, when we returned same vehicle back to Hertz at the Airport on April 12th 2017, the lady with the clipboard made a beeline for the passenger side wing mirror and promptly said this damage was done whilst in our care. No way did we damage or scratch this vehicle in any way but as we could not produce a piece of paper signed by us or Hertz, regarding existing damage, we were penalised $1000.00. What an absolute rip off, Hertz we shall never use you again and will tell everyone we know of your unjust, unfair and cavalier way of handling this situation.
Car and van rental available 24 by 7. Book the car online and pick car right from the airport parking . Good service.
ATTENTION! TOURIST TRAP! This Hertz Office is involved in swindle and won't inform customers upon reserving their vehicle that they need an international or translated drivers license, because they cooperate with a translation office that they forward helpless customers to who wouldn't be handed out a car because of this. They made about 80 NZD on me because I had no translation. (Example of proper practice: The Hertz office in Beijing warns customers prior to reservation that they need a Chinese license or they won't get a car) besides that, I can confirm that I perceived the ladies of the staff as cold and indifferent in their interaction with the customer. Avoid this office.
Front counter staff member was highly unprofessional and looked like he had just returned from a hard night out. Vehicle was absolutely fantastic and the drop off staff member was very friendly. Can't ever get through to the branch by phone either. Deposit refund still not received back after 3 days either
The mid size car Chevy Malibu equivalent we got is very nice and powerful. The fuel economy is excellent. Full tank can go 760 km. Wow and the car are fully loaded with luggages and 4 adults, that is a very impressive sedan.
