A quiet and pristine Lake Kaniere having a basic doc campsite with only toilet, water tap and picnic tables. You should be prepared to have your own cooking and sleeping facilities.

Would rate this campsite higher if not for the awful amount of sandflies! Otherwise good place to stop for the night and included in the DOC camping pass.

Nice views. Tranquil lake waters sure will find peaceful. Great retreat especially in summer famous blue waters of the gorge and the surrounding rivers won't be an easy miss 👍👍👍

Clean and well maintained facilities. Includes toilets and water ( non-drinkable). View of the lake. Everyone is parked next to another so not the quietest but it does the job.

Beautiful view on the lake, heaps of spots to pitch your tent or sleep in your camper van and as most of the DOC campsites, it is very clean which is really enjoyable. Great but demanding walk up to mount Tuhua (7hours return), with amazing views on the lake and hokitika. Definitely worth it!
