Beautiful lodge, huge rooms, delicious food. Lovely nature walks and options on outdoor activities depending on the weather. We learned about merino wool from the farm next door with an amazing guide that will show you how to sheer sheep and the process on making a business on wool. Would definitely recommend.

What a rip off!!! The wilderness lodge was recommneded to me by a travel agent. Upon checking it out online it appeared by all pictures pretty awesome. So I bit the $589 per person rate and booked two nights as part of my honeymoon.

    Pros:

    Beautiful Location

    Sheep Tour

    Cons:

Kitchen is only open from 7:30AM-9:30AM and then again from 7:30PM-9:30PMmeaning lunch is not included.oh and neither is any alcohol

Beyond that- -anything you want to do outside of the "givens" is with a huge charge. The guided tours start at $160 PER person. (Guided tours meaning -a guide walking alongside you a on a well marked trail). All for a nature walk to see some birds. Thankfully I passed.

Bugs in my bedI took a picture to prove it- my main concern was it was a cockroach and was worried it may be an infestation (thankfully my wife didn't see it)when I brought it to their attention Instead of apologizing or showing any bit of concern- the Staff tried to brush it off and just said you are in the wilderness.

Overall this place was a waste of money and a rip off. I would NOT recommend to anyone unless there is some dire reason you need to be in that exact location. Check around for other hotel options!!!
