Really beautiful local scenery and an easy 15 minute walk there and back. Just watch the swing bridge as too many touristas do not read the 6 person maximum warning. Well worth the stunning view
Beautiful! You have got to be there to see for yourself, the beautiful color of the water. The walk is a leisurely 10 mins from the car park . Be there earlier . We were there at 10.30 and there were 2-3 groups (6-8 persons ) . When we left at 11.30, there was barely to park the car.
Absolutely beautiful, short drive out of town and very short walk from the car to the view and the bridge. Pictures are accurate, doesn't matter the time of day or anything, the water is that blue! Well marked roads and simple path. Easy walk.
Beautiful the water colour is incredible, and the views are fantastic. Highly recommend. However any exposed skin is likely to be attacked by the tiny sand flies. 2 days later, and I have 20+ red welts on my hands and arms where they bit me Still itching like hell.. recommend that you keep covered.
Top shelf sightseeing. Well groomed trail and lovely blue rover. Would go again.
Long gravel road but lovely gorge, one of the best in New Zealand. The water is stunning
Stunning outlook. The swing bridge is great and offers another aspect to the site. The water has a unique colouration. A must do when on the West Coast.
There is a wee walk to get to it (5-10 minutes) that does involve a hill so was a little challenging for my older mum. No problem for anyone with average to low fitness.
Beautiful but you have to prepare insect repellent, there are a lot of sand flies.
BeautifulTranquillity. .great easy safe walkwayshistory..natural awesome nature and river walks
Quiet and nice place. The drive although is not short, but easy to drive and navigate. Recommended.
I am more of a turquoise clear water soul, but the gorge and its surroundings are really a sight for the eyes. Loved the walk. Bring along a good fly repellent. The sandflies there are relentless.
This is a MUST-SEE attraction. The color of the water is absolutely amazing and beautiful. We took our two elementary aged children with and they had such a good time exploring. Be sure to bring bug repellentthere are a ton of sand flies and other bugs near the water!
Beautiful turquoise water. Not too many tourists. In summer a great spot to swim if you can't be bothered by the sandflies.
Beautiful spot with amazing blue water. The walk there from the car park is only about 15 minutes so suitable for young kids too. If it has been raining a lot the gorge turns into a massive brown stream of mud, which is in itself a sight to behold. I recommend going when it's been raining only a little though.
