Dorset house is just a lovely place where is worth to stay for a night. It has an interesting old style atmosphere.. The staff is nice and location is also very good in a calm part of the city next to a river and big park.

A small walk from the CBD. This hostel is in a nice quiet street between the main park and the restaurant/cafe street of the city. The hostel itself is a lovely building with very friendly & helpful staff. We had a private room and it was a good size and even had its own TV. We really enjoyed our stay at Dorset House.

Lovely place which will make you feel welcome. Very convenient location as it's close to the airport bus, close to the magnificent botanical garden and 15min walk from the city center and the info center.
Beds are comfy, though it gets a little cold at night. Shower and toilet are clean. Kitchen is nice but could use a little more fridge space.

Clean rooms, kitchen and bathrooms. Great wifi, great staff. There's free pool table, a lot of room.

Very cute hostel, nice staff, clean. Not far from city center and beautiful botanical garden. Started our NZ trip here and were so happy that we stayed there as wel for our last day, before heading home.

First time travelling on my own! such a good spot by the park and I found it nice walking to botanic gardens and the city centre. Nice and clean and everything I needed was available. Even before I arrived staff were fantastic, answering all my questions and ensuring my stay was comfortable and safe. Such a nice first couple of nights for a solo traveller! Might be back in mid August! Thank you so much to the lovely staff.
