Beach is great, some nice pinguïns and seals. It's a bit painful there is only one building for kitchen, bathroom etc. There are to many people that's making a mess. And don't care about the other people. And facilities are to less 4 that many people.

I went there in winter time. I had the entire place almost by myself. There was a small roundy sort of kitchen. There was a fantastic view on top of the park with a bench. A staff was helpful. I will definitely visit there again. It will be in summer.

Stayed three nights with kids and could see the dolphins on multiple occasions. New and clean kitchen / toilet block. Perfect beach as well as rough cost line within 100m from the sheltered sites. We loved the place!

Stayed there for a few days. One of my favorite places in NZD! James & Billy are awesome! BBQ'd EVERY meal which was legend, showers are magical. I've never seen so many stars in my life! Would go back in a heartbeat. 💯

It was extremely windy while we were there so we unfortunately didn't see any dolphins or penguins. But we still had a great time! The owner was extremely nice and he told us about the local attractions. The kitchen and bathrooms were very clean. Our campsite was nice and private.

Under new ownership as of Oct/2017, this place is lovely. Camping is in pockets of flax, and the facilities are clean and hot. Tonnes of walks to see dolphins, penguins, cliffs, and beaches as far as the eye can see. Worth a trip down south.

Lovely location, the bay is stunning. Pity the day I went here the wind was blowing pretty hard. Otherwise I will definitely go again. Remember to bring bug spray though as the sand flies could really ruin your day.

Not near enough facilities for cooking showering etc.
Owner's really give the impression they couldn't care less about the place and that your an inconvenience to them.
    I wouldn't go back.

Sites are secluded in reeded areas, refurbished facilities but not nearly enough kitchen space or showers for the number of guests. Showers are paid for too, owners were very unwelcoming and felt almost like they were annoyed they had more customers to deal with!

Nice location but the campground itself isn't worth the money. Nothing special and quiet unfriendly owner..

Great spot. If you are lucky you can swim with the Delfins. For sure you can go see the Pinguines arrive from the sea in the evening. Facilities are aweful. Dont use them. I can take a lot but after seeing the showers I decided to wait for the next location.

Nice place to camp. Definitely camp here for at least a night. I wasn't lucky as I did not get to see the dolphins that do drop by quite regularly.

Great campground on account of it's location directly at the ocean and the interesting layout (bush covered with cutout bays for the sites). The only shower (paid shower) was cold but maybe it was broken at that particular time. The kitchen is very small with no sitting area but they were doing construction on a brand new kitchen when I visited (November 2016). Toilets are basic but clean and reasonable for the price you pay.
