A bit of a let down, There is a certain expectation that a Copthorne hotel will provide a clean and sanitary room. In our first room, the tea mugs had been cleaned but still had a tea / coffee residue at the base. But most concerning was the toilet seat. The seat and lid of the seat was old and actually flaking. I am unsure as to how this could be kept sanitary, but how did it pass any possible quality control. We were looked after and allowed to change room, I do wonder if the toilet seat will ever be changed though. Very disappointed.

Did not have a very good time at the Copthorne on Anzac Avenue. The staff were friendly but the food and room service was terrible! The buffet breakfast was bad-the mini crossaints were as hard as bricks, the eggs were undercooked and had no taste whatsoever and the French toast was barely soaked in egg to mention a few things at breakfast. Then when we decided to order room service for dinner, they said there would be a half hour wait. Half an hour later we called, then an hour later, then an hour and a half later and still no dinner had been delivered! So eventually we went downstairs as we couldn't wait any longer and my little sister was starving- for them to finally come up later and say that they only had one cook in the kitchen!! If they had told us this to begin with it would have been fine and we would have ordered elsewhere. Grrrr would NOT stay here again. The rooms were outdated like others have said but I guess it's why this place is cheaper than others. Also the parking is a squeeze and it's first in first serve so if you miss out there is parking down the road and hope you don't get caught in the rain!

The hotel leaves a bit to be desired with limited parking onsite and a busy reception area that seems under staffed at crucial check out times. The do have an additional parking about 200mts down the road for an additional $15 per night, which would have been fine if not for the torrential rain when we checked in and no undercover walkways between the parking and the hotel.
We had breakfast included with our room rate and sadly this was one of the saddest hotel breakfasts I've had in a while. Bone Dry bread, tasteless unappetising hot food, sliced fruit that looked old and crusty like it had not been uncovered over night in the fridge and a deli selection that was not restocked the entire time we had breakfast. Despite not physically paying extra for breakfast, this service needs a major overhaul if its to give any value to the overall experience.
The saving grace was the cleanliness of the rooms and despite their being a party a few door down from us, once we were in our room with the door closed, we could not hear them. Which wouldn't have really mattered because the noise from the air conditioning unit in our room thoroughly drowned out my sorrows.response / report this review -

Nice location in the heart of the city. Good restaurants around. Paid parking nearby. Walking distance from harbour and shopping district.

Our room on the 4th floor was a little tired but a good price, clean with very comfy bed and quiet at night. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Average Hotel, Cafe/bar good.
The nights we stayed were noisy, particularly when they decided to renovate the kitchen at 10.30 at night. There was jack hammers and drilling. REALLY NOISY. The first staff member I complained to said it had to be done at night, not even a sorry for the inconvenience. The second time I rang reception i got the night manager. He was apologetic , but only offered us a free breakfast. Too bad we needed to sleep. Would not stay there againresponse / report this review
