Small, but decent house beer and reasonable price. Good pub crawl on Wednesdays

Room was very small, no windows, with thin walls, but reasonably clean (but uncomfortable beddings). Shared bathroom spaces equally small but clean enough. No towels were available so we were unable to use the shower facilities, and it was payg by day Wi-Fi that worked only part of the time, as it kept kicking off the device, and w asnt strong enough to do more than scroll Facebook (but not even watch a video). Too expensive for how poorly it worked. Worst part was the sound from the bar carried all the way to our 5th floor room well into the night. And the elevator was sketchy and twitchy. Staff was decently friendly.

Zero stars. Assholes here didn't let three legally blind people into the bar. They said the bar had closed at 9.30pm. Yet at 11pm when we tried to get in. The bouncer stopped us. Other people were inside and outside the bar drinking, music playing etc. We were sober and had just come from work. Discrimination at its finest. I'm told this has happened on more than one occasion too.

Place was awesome best rooms. Clean communal areas. Great chat and banter from the bros at reception. Even offered a few tightheads. Great nightly meal saved me a bit as I burn water. As social as the mission bay golf club. Great location. Even loved that their was a strip club next door as i love boobs. But reception couldn't help fix my broken heart. But they gave me free WiFi.

I've stayed in a number of hostels in plenty of countries but this is by far the most disappointing. If you're lucky enough for the elevator to be working, you'll quickly get a good idea of how grubby this place is, with the whole inside feeling like it's ready to be torn down.
My room was on the 6th floor and was essentially a bare room with a bed and absolutely no ventilation. The walls to the room were obviously not an original feature and had been erected so shoddily, there were still gaps here and there (perhaps this was their idea of ventilation!). This also meant you could hear absolutely everything from the other rooms on the same floor. It felt like an oven in there and to make things worse it rained all night during my stay. Obviously I don't blame this on the hostel however every single raindrop sounded like a hammerblow on the roof, which made sleep impossible.
In the morning I left at the earliest opportunity. I had pre-booked to stay here again on my way back through Auckland, but managed to cancel this and rebooked elsewhere.
Please avoid this place, you'll only regret it if you don't.

Would prefer to give zero stars. This place was one of the worst I've stayed in a long time. We booked online and quickly checked the website so thought we were booking into Nomads Auckland. Imagine our horror to find out the website was not as the backpackers was.

Entry into the lift, there were no walls, it was disgustingly filthy - I was too afraid to put my bag down.

The room we had was dark, stank and had no windows or air conditioning. There was no mention of needing to bring towels and no one could provide them as they kept getting stolen. How about having a deposit system??

We checked out at the crack of dawn as we couldn't bear staying any longer than we had to. Having to use clothes to dry ourselves so we could have a shower in the mouldy hovel.

Would not recommend to anyone. . Lucky Adele was amazing so the weekend wasn't entirely spoilt. Gross..

    Do Some renovations.

Quite a crap place. yyyyh! At least the bed was comfortable and the staff nice. If you want to sleep cheap in the center for one (max 2) nights.
