The guy behind the reception was uninterested, short with his answers and rude. Wouldn't stay there another time.

Great place. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. But the rooms were a little run down and the free WiFi reception was pretty poor. Overall a good no frills experience.

We stayed overnight following a family bereavement. Free wifi useless as no reception in our room. No room to walk around or sit at table once sofa bed folded out. Dirty bathroom / shower curtain and mould on aluminium window frames in bedroom. We arrived late to find bedroom door to outside unlocked and windows wide open meaning the room was full of bugs. Extremely rude male owner. Would not recommend.

Completely agree with the last reviewer, stayed here friday night, no milk in room, toilet was covered in some ungodly substance, tv barely worked, cutlery was disgusting and to top it off the breakfast was late and rank. highly recommend not staying here unless it gets better

The motel has been sold recently and is not worth going there anymore!
Awful Motel. Terrible Service.
I've never ran out of a motel room faster in my life.
There was no milk in the room.
The bathroom was covered in body hairs. There was no shower curtain. There was a not so mysterious yellow stain under the toilet, a red mark on the toilet seat and brown stains on the towels.
The bed sheet was not changed after the last guest checked out. Can you believe it?
I was shocked to see hairs falling off the pillow and the sheet wasn't properly tucked in.
Very rude host! Forces you to pay first otherwise he won't let you in.
I travel a lot! I haven't seen such unkindness in my life.
The WORST motel in NEW ZEALAND!

Stayed a night on Sunday 24th April 2016 (Anzac Weekend) with breakfast (of your choice) served, with a small fee. It was a simple and hearty breakfast. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. A fair price for 3 people.
Karen and Terry were the motel host and they were very helpful. 👍👍👍
Highly recommended. Would return to this motel again when I visit Taupo city.response / report this review -

The Owners were SO lovely! The room was fantastic for out family of 4 and we were a last min walk-in book. Will book again when we next visit Taupo!

Booked my stay at this lovely lakefront motel in Taupo last month and my 3 nights were nothing short of exceptional. The easy stroll to the lake and downtown Taupo along with the very clean motel room and great services made my stay one to remember. Cheers

Stayed at this Taupo motel a week ago and was very impressed with the location, amenities and especially the complimentary breakfast. Terry and Karen were very helpful and friendly. Recommended for sure!
